The Anthem outlets have really taken a beating during the recession. I know of a handful of stores that have closed up because of it. There is so much for lease in that mall its ridiculous. I prefer Arizona Mills over Anthem.

If you have kids, Anthem has a nice outdoor playground/waterpark for them to play at. I usually chill with the kids there while my wife spends all of my hard earned money.

There's a Mexican place in Cave Creek that is awesome, right on the main road.

edit - and here it is...

spent about 6 mo down there, i don't think you'll find those brands at az mills or other outlet places. Best place is probably scottsdale mall, on scottsdale blvd and camelback rd, probably the largest mall in the valley, and lots of dept stores (in the us department stores are good, like nordstrom, saks etc ... not like canada's sears and bay)

Also best concentration of bars, restaurants etc are just south of there in old towne so a good place to send lots of time.

Yeah Fashion Square mall in Scottsdale is the place to go for higher end clothing. You just have to put up with the rich snobby type people.

If you are going to CC, and it is NFL time, like sunday or thursday night, go to a place called Harolds also, especially if the Steelers are playing.
