Back in high school I worked at a pet store in South Center mall...
I remember that pet store and l'm pretty sure l remember Dolly. I remember a blueish/gold looking parrot quite clearly. I remember back then thinking about how cool it would be to own a parrot. I wish l had a pet parrot. Any idea what happened to her?

Shes probably in some sort of witness protection program once she points the finger (claw/talon/whatever) at Slinger over there for some inappropriate conduct.

No idea. That chain of stores went out of business when the big US chains moved into town. She was probably sold for dirt cheap to another pet store I'm guessing.

I find it interesting that you posted this thread, as I was about to post the exact same thing. I thank you for bringing this up.
I was on a wait list for over 3 years to get a new parrot. I had gone through the interviews, medical tests, and lifestyle analysis. The National Parrot Foundation even rated me a 7!
I decided at the last minute, while waiting for that highly anticipated parrot call, that someone else probably deserved the parrot more than me. There are children out there without parrots, and who was I to demand one? I called the Parrot Foundation and told them to take me off the list. This was 4 years ago and I am still going strong.
I still do not have a parrot, but I do keep a small photo of one under my pillow. Any time I am feeling especially lonely, I will take it out, look at it, and think of what might have been.
Thank you again for raising this important topic.

I had a parrot for a while back then too. I just didn't see the point in having a parrot. If I wanted to see an exotic bird I'd go to Amazon in person.

I've got parrots (and cockatoos, galahs, and lorikeets) sitting in the trees around my house every day, having a pet one seems redundant. Plus, some of them (particularly cockatoos) have super-annoying loud squawks, it would drive most people nuts inside the house.
