I would love to restore this back to an original Pengo running the 60-1 board (which has Pengo on it) but I could never get my money back out of it. The artwork (control panel, marquee, bezel and sideart) would cost upwards of $400 hence my price of $800-$1200. Restoring them back to the original game (like the Qix above) is the best way to go. They look original and play the original game and then 59 others aswell. I have an original Ms. Pac-man at my storage with a bad game board so I will do the same thing with it.

Bump for last minute Christmas ideas. I don't know how you would wrap a Golden Tee but it would make an awesome gift to wake up to Christmas morning.

I have a Multicade ready to go if anyone is interested (one person might be coming tomorrow to look at it). It is a small green Taito cabinet running the 60 games above Pictures are on Kijiji and CP price is $800.

The Green Taito Multi was sold to a CP'er so it is no longer available. Also removed the Lethal Enforcers cabinet as the only one I have left (still haven't picked it up) is sold whenever I get it.

Just a semi? I'm itching to get a 60-1 cocktail but having a hard time justifying it before my basement is finished.

Not sure how happy Gobs is going to be seeing someone else's games in his thread. Just saying.

I don't mind at all but thanks for looking out for me. I do this as a hobby and I love to see people put games in their houses. It doesn't have to come from me.

if only I had 200 bucks my wife would love me to add another arcade machine to my basement! One of these days I plan on actually posting a picture of the mame machine I built using gobs golden tee cab! Hopefully it will inspire all of you to build one as well

I am thinking of building a MAME machine over Christmas. I have the computer setup and ready to go so I just need to put it all together. If anyone is interested in a MAME machine let me know. It will be in a Golden Tee cabinet with a 27" monitor. Two player with 8 buttons per player plus a trackball and pinball buttons. I am thinking around $1500 depending on how much custom artwork the buyer wants.

My current MAME setup can play most arcade games plus Daphne for laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair as well as Virtual pinball.

I am not the guy that posted on Kijiji about building MAME machines.

I will build a slighlty less awesome mame mahine then gobs and sell it for half the price!

I am just kidding you really get what you pay for. You can build your own for 350-500 using gobs golden tee cabs and his x arcade controller depending if you have a spare computer around not putting anything custom on it. Or can you buy one from Gob which would be alot cleaner looking and not go wrong, totally depending on your budget. I am poor and my wife hates me so I had to go the cheap do it your self way. It may not be the cleanest internally looking machine but it plays all the games.

I can't thank Gob enough for helping me get started and I am shocked and surprised I actually went through with it and got a working machine.

Just curious about the advantages/disadvantages of going with a MAME machine vs. a 60-in one? Why choose one over the other?

60-1 is an actual arcade board so it will work like an arcade machine 100 percent of the time.

60-1 you get 60 great classic games

MAME is all based using a cpu. You need to fiddle around with all the controls and find a front end to hide all your computer aspects to make it look like an arcade machine. It is not terribly hard now that I know what to do but for someone who isn't really computer tech savy it was quite tricky trying to figure it out. I believe it took me about 2 weeks to get the MAME part of the project figured out a couple really late nights fiddling with different programs.

MAME you get 1000's of games but lots are junk like Majong tile games I have about 1000 of them alone.

Being that its a CPU you can get regular computer problems happening like windows sucking or drivers failing that kind of stuff. You also need to find a video card that has s video out and setting that up was a pain in the arse!

60-1 has the set game list that can't be changed. It plays the classics and is very easy to use. Press 1P start select your game and play. Disadvantages are the menu screen is ugly. The odd sound issues on a few of the games.

MAME can run thousands of arcade games that you "legally" have to "buy/download" roms for. The issues with MAME are sometime you need to pull out the keyboard to do some things or change settings. Some ROMs won't work with certain versions of MAME so you can't play them. Once setup nicely and configured properly they run really nice and are great for the wide array of games you can play.

I should also mention that I have 4 computers ready to go. My first build will be a GT cab because it is in my garage. After that I plan do an NFL Blitz cab (Blitz won't actually run on MAME though) as it is really nice with the full sideart and everything. The third cabinet will be a dedicated shooting MAME cabinet in a House of the Dead cabinet that will only play shooting games (Police Trainer, Deer Hunting USA, Area 51 etc.)

Blitz will run but you may want to try getting a dreamcase emulator same with games like killer instinct. If you want to run on mame you are going to need 64 bit windows and a really good duo core and 4 + gigs of ram. And who wants to run a gaming pc for use in a mame cab. Try the n64 or dreamcase emulators. (dreamcast runs better) from what I have read

I agree. The N64 one is terrible and it is hard to find a wrapper that works nicely. The Dreamcast games just aren't quite the same but I guess they are better than nothing.

Maybe next week if I get bored I will try and load one up and see what it is like. Another option is to buy the pc version for cheap online and leave it in your cd tray and run a script in your front end to load the file from there. I can't do this since I don't have a cd drive but it may work for some!
