I don't care one way or the other, but they were bolting together structural steel like they do here. I would bet if businessmen are spending millions, there'd be a couple of bucks in there for Engineers. I remember reading an article a few years ago about a robotic house building system that could lay the bricks for walls, and do everything else as well. It ran around the perimeter on tracks.

Pre-fab is the future of construction.

The hotel wasn't BUILT in 6 days, it was ERECTed in 6 days. They probably spent months building the stuff before hand.

let me just write the name of the hotel down so that if i am ever in that part of china, i know where not to stay.

in fairness though, it is an incredible feat of logistics. forget about the construction, the management of the proper parts at the proper time must have been insane.

The Chinese have logistics down to a science. It takes the western world 8 years to build a nuclear power plant after all the red tape has been dealt with. It takes China half that time and they don't just build the power plant they build all temporary facilities to support the build as well.

And they are building a hell of a lot of nuclear power plants in the next 30 years (looking at ~100). The designs are all US designs with the first ones being built under supervision of the US companies until the CHinese take full ownership of the builds in a few years.

Somehow I don't think the Chinese have this problem.
