Calgary Sun had one a few years ago where Fleury was not going to allowed to play in the playoffs because of his height. NHL insurance woudln't allow it. The article was pretty detailed and included speculation that Fleury might risk his long-term health with surgery to "stretch his body". I was younger at the time and bought it completely. Funny stuff.

Other April Fools I can remember.

1997 - Think it was 107 KIK FM had the story that Calgary was getting the '98 Olympics because Nagano was running behind with less than a year to go.

A couple years back the Sun put in an article that speed sensors were going to be installed on all Alberta cars, generating automatic tickets sent out to you if you were speeding.
Hundreds of calls, and then the Sun called some auto car alarm installers...who fell for it too and said they wouldn't take part in any installation of these things.
