forget the coquihala and the kooteneys routes, the best scenery in all bc is the fraser canyon.

whether taking the 99 from cache creek through lillooet and squamish, or going through the ashcroft way, lytton, etc. is great too.

you can kinda mix and match your canyon route.

there's seven tunnels, including a big like mile-long one.

there's the hell's gate canyon tour, on a skytram.

ashcroft manor is an english-style tea house, with kickass strawberry shortcake.

and Cheese's coast drive ain't too shabby either. though if memory serves i think you may have to take a ferry to molly's reach.

i grew up mostly in the canyon, and never appreciated it fully until later. truly unreal. lillooet is where they filmed rambo 3, there are cactii and sandy peaks everywhere. mountain goats are always visible. some lakes, like seaton, are deep-blue glacial - sturgeon and all.

the canyon is rugged and deep, the fraser is extremely fast and tumultuous, the roads have switchbacks and hairpins, lytton is suspended above the canyon by chicken wire, the list goes on and on.

canyon.

If you have the budget, plan a meal in the revolving restaurant on the roof of the Empire Landmark Hotel on Robson Street. Great views of the City and harbour. And for the ultimate Vancouver experience, stop in at Starbucks and then take an early morning walk around the Stanley Park seawall. It's enough to make you want to live there...almost.

Wash your mouth out for saying that!!

Actually, you can go almost anywhere in this province and see some fantastic scenery. The Fraser Canyon is pretty nice, I have to admit.

Something else you may want to consider on your trip.........I went up to the top of Grouse Mountain in Vancouver last summer for the first time. Fantastic view of the city from up there. A quick gondola ride to the top, or do the Grouse Grind if you want some excersise.

Anywhere on the Island is pretty beautiful as well. Victoria is a nice city, although hotels and such can be a little pricey there. Taking the Ferries all the time can add up as well. I think it was about $50 each way to Victoria and back to the mainland. Not sure what the others cost, though.

And the Enchanted Forest.....wow, a blast from the past. Forgot about that place.

I still remember Flinstoneland or whatever it was called outside of Chilliwack. Man, I'm getting old...........

If you do go through the Kootenays, it's mandatory to stop off at Ainsworth Hot Springs, just by Nelson.

You go into an actual cave where the hot water is spewing out from.

If you go through Banff go and see the Merman, he's in a glass case in the back of the Indian Trading Post.

Depending how long you stay in Vancouver for, here's some stuff I would definitely recommend on doing in the best city on Earth

1. Grouse Mountain is a must, the best view!!!!!

2. Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge....not Capilano....this one is free and pretty much the same

3. If you are a gambler.....you have to go to the River Rock Casino and resort

4. Before the concert, go to Gastown, some solid restaurants there

5. A walk along the SeaWall at Stanley Park is a must

Any one of those five will make your trip that much better.
