Bought a truck from them a couple months ago. Thumbs down overall, would not use again.

Was just looking over the paperwork last night and realized the finance guy messed with the numbers and charged me 250$ more then the agreed upon price. The only reason I was going over the paperwork again. Because it's been 2 months now and they still haven't refunded the 500$ deposit i gave them after 3 emails and 2 phone calls and numerous promises to do it right away.

Ford's definitely upped their game over the last few years, they are the only "domestic" brand that I would consider (I put domestic in quotes since its hard to decipher what qualifies considering how international car manufacturing is these days). People seem to love the Edge and the Flex, The new Fiesta should be a player in the small market segment, and I'm really looking forward to the new Focus....thank god we are now getting the Euro version, not the ugly step-sister we have on the roads today.

Having said that those quality control reports you are referring to are pretty much all Initial Quality Studies....which makes great headlines, but has very little bearing on how that car will be 5 years from now (you know, when the warranty runs out, and you will actually have to pay for repairs).

First On Race Day.

I'm more of a truck guy, but in my opinion Ford is by far the best of the domestic auto makers. The Edge and the Fusion are both outstanding vehicles.

Ha Cogent, I like how you went straight to the top of the line roided-out ST! Definitely pretty cool, but I think even the more basic Focus's are going to be significant upgrade....visually I might even prefer the more subdued version.

I like the Flexes a lot - way more than an Edge.

The new Mustang is also a sweet ride with soooo much power, so Ford is doing something right there.

And since we're talking about domestics, I bought my first Chrysler two years ago. My other two vehicles are Toyotas and I normally buy Japanese but I just couldn't say no to the deal I got on a 300c AWD. I paid $17K for my '05 in '08 and it has been flawless. Not a rattle or a squeak, it hasn't needed any unusual maintenance items and it has all kinds of balls (340hp) and is unstoppable with its AWD in the winter, too.

You hear a lot of bad things about Chryslers and I've never been a fan, but my experience with this car has really surprised me.

Here's a video of a 300c AWD in snow that's kinda cool (and appropriate for today lol).

I finally got to take a 2011 Edge out for a test drive yesterday, and was pretty impressed. The power could be a bit better, and I can imagine what it would be like with the 4cyl that's still coming. Probably not good.

Compared it by driving a similar priced Rav4, and while the Rav4 was definitely a lot more peppy, the interior styling sucked compared to the new Edge.

I'm not considering the Flex because I find them ugly imho.

Thanks everyone for the advice so far.

I read "Edge" in the first post, but my brain turned it into "Flex". Ford should get more syllables.
sorry.

My GF used to work there...the only salesman worth speaking with is Chris Yauch, if you're going to Adavantage, request him, he goes above and beyond and argues with management to get his customers what they deserve...Stokes puts his commission up his nose, if you know what i mean, so you can tell where his motivation comes from.

You should price out a lincoln MKX as well if you're going for a loaded edge. There is more rebate money available on the MKX so the price difference wasn't as much as I expected. They are quite similar although the interior materials/sound system are much higher grade than the Edge.I will definitely recoup most of the extra cost of the MKX when we sell it. Also if you finance through Ford Credit at their current ridiculous rate, you should see an extra $1000.00 rebate (finance cash). You can pay the loan off after you've made your first payment. With the employee pricing, costco rebate, and finance cash, I'll save about $10,000 off MSRP.

I always found it funny that a very good jewish friend of mine was a huge Ford fan and had numerous Mustangs.

But I would buy a Ford over any other American vehicle. I really wanted to look at the fiesta before I bought my Versa.
