You need to look at the 709 / G9 boot. I bet the incredible hulk could find a fit in those things. You see a lot of the big men in the NHL wearing them because they fit so deep.
As far as Sport Swap. I had one of their cards where you got 10 free sharpens, so I figured I'd give em a try. I literally went running across the store one time to make the girl there stop sharpening my skates. I was just browsing around when they were doing my sharpen, and I heard this grinding sound like they were sharpening my skates with a chainsaw or something. I ran up to the counter and they girl is literally hanging off the sharpener arm. I asked what the heck she was doing, and she said.."This way I can do them in one pass." I had to get them re profiled and basically lost a 1/4 inch of blade to get them fixed at pro skate. I was not pleased. Its no wonder they went out of business.

I should just suck it up and pay $400 for a 20 game season and have to get all my equipment off the interwebs with out ever feeling it in my hands.
I just want a Sherwood coffey blade wooden stick...

I recently got a new stick. It's an Easton ST and I like it a lot. It has an Iginla curve.
Since I got it, I have really noticed a difference in my shot. While I did get a more whippy stick this time, I seriously think the stick is just easier to shoot with.
I like it a lot.

if i had my druthers i'd get my skates sharpened at no sweat esporta on mcleod and heritage - however, out of convienece i go to PHL.......
anyone ever try that flat bottom v sharpening thing?
generally speaking i prefer my skates with a deep hollow - i hate when the feel dull.

so, I have 9.5 CCM U+07's . The G35's I have are 9. The Grafs are the most comfy on my feet . they only problem is they are snug on my toes while my CCMs are loose in the heel. I have a thing about my feet and hate them being squeezed. MY front two toes touch the toe cap in the grafs which is how they should fit . I just havent gotten used to the leaning forward profile enough to wear them regularly. Im hoping once I do , the skates will stretch out just a hair. I have not baked them yet either so maybe that will work out well too. I am really trying to wait til I come to Calgary at Christmas to get them baked and possibly punched. I am waiting so I can deal with professionals who have dealt with Grafs before.

Bought my first pair of Grafs last year and I'll never go back. I had Super Tacks that absolutely killed my feet. I was off skates for 5 months, played 2 weeks ago and no pain. Usually, I'd be in agony for weeks before my feet got used to skating again. I'm sold.

In terms of sharpenings, Play It Again Sports in Westhills hired the guy who used to sharpen skates at the Centennial pro shop, imo he's the best or at least top 5 in Calgary.

Hahaha. I went to Adrenaline in the summer, who are usually fantastic, and the individual doing the sharpenings looked at me like I was crazy/drunk when I asked for 3/4, and proceeded to tell me that only goalies use that and he'd never ever seen a player ask for it and that I had no idea what I was talking about. Safe to say I immediately grabbed another staff member to do my sharpening.
CCM U+ pros for me.

Are the 08's from the DailyHockeDeal deal? How do you like the rocket runners? Have you had to change them yet?
The U+ 08 pros have been blames for causing huge blisters on the insides of peoples feet. I found this out when it happened to my friend so I did some research. Did you have anything like this?

No Rocket Runners, I swapped LS2s on them. I've heard the same, but my feet/ankles are a gongshow compared to a normal person and they fit very well. No blisters or discomfort after a few skates.

Yeah, I would have bailed there too if I didn't need to be on the ice in an hour. Ended up just telling them to give me the shallowest hollow they could do. Pretty sure it was only 1/2 at best.
Those Rocket Runners are basically T-Blades aren't they. Well, the same concept at least? Dumb, dumb idea.

Absolutely false. The Rocket Runners are not even close to T-blades in concept.
Rocket Runners still had to be sharpened like regular blades. T-blades could not be sharpened and were never designed to be. Rocket Runners were just like regular runners except the upper 1/3 was made of an acrylic composite to save weight. The problem was that sharpeners who weren't any good at sharpening would frequently overheat the blade and melt the acrylic composite. Nothing wrong with Rocket Runners. The problem was with the crappy sharpeners.

Ah okay. I didn't really look into them. I just read replaceable blades and shook my head.

But also the life of the steel on the rocket runners less than regular runners. Supposedly they only get a X amount of sharpenings before you have to replace the disposable rocket runner. 8-12 sharpenings is what my pro shop said although my buddy is on his 7th sharpening and said they still feel great.

It also blows my mind how many $300 hockey sticks they stock there - is the market for sticks at that price point really that big? I bought an Easton Elite SE at sportcheck for $129 (it was marked as being $199 regularly) - I have only used it once and I am unsure if I like it any more than my other Easton's.
I also wanted to ask if anyone has ever "baked" thier own skates in their oven at home. I was thinking of doing this to my son's skates - but was worried that I may damage them. If anyone has ever done this I'd like to hear about it.

I have these skates, they are the Bauer Total Ones and they are the best skate I have ever used by a mile.
i currently use the x60 stick, which is great, but I can't wait to get my hands on a Total One, they look ridiculous

i saw a picture of these on the PHL website, and I agree that they are great looking skates - given the price of bauer's current top end offering and am thinking these bad boys will be close to $1,000......

I thought i heard $699. However that is here in the states. They really rape you Canadian guys... because they can. So many rules about online retailers and such up there.
