As radio hosts, they weren't terrible, but CJAY made a big mistake trying to put a morning show on the drive home. I want music, not talk. If I want talk, I'll go to Fan960 or QR77.

Do you ever want talk from a music station? Unless it's something insightful about the band, or some sort of special feature, I really would prefer if DJ's weren't around. I don't need "banter".

I didn't know people still listened to CJAY.
I guess I should of realized it may still be popular based upon the popularity of monster truck shows and wrestling in this city.

...and commercial rock music, which is, you know, popular everywhere.
I'd probably listen to CJAY more than I do if they dumped the 30 moldy classic rock songs they play far too often.

It must be so hard on you, to have your otherwise over-compressed and generic day polluted with a little depth and resonance and musicality.

So Proto, any insight as to why they quit? I haven't listened to CJAY since Grade 10 but it seems like an awfully short stint on radio. "Just not a good fit?" as they say.

I haven't listened to CJAY for a few years. Are they still only playing the same 10 or so songs?
You can't listen to CJAY more then an hour without hearing an AC/DC track. The station should really be called AC/DC-92

I have only listened to internet radio at work and at home now for a couple of years. It's only been in the jeep that I had to listen to regular radio, when I am too lazy to change cd's. But now that I have a spiffy new iphone4, I can listen to internet radio there also. So good. Dj's and commercials suck.

Nothing as of yet... and we may never know. But if they pop up in Edmonton in a month or so, easy to put 1 and 1 together.

Does he still do the sing-a-longs to the same lame comedy songs, accompanied by the peanut gallery doing their best Ed McMahon impressions?

i was more just trying (and obviously failing) to make a calgary/edmonton joke.
based on the small sampling of posts here there seems to be an overall hate on for CJAY; however is it not one of the top ranked terrestial radio stations in calgary?

Aww muffin, did I hurt your feelings by pointing out the obvious? The fact remains that commercial rock is easily one of the most popular genres of music, and will continue to be so no matter how pretentious a d-bag you choose to be about it.

The last time I listened to CJAY, which was at least 10 years ago, they regularly sung that BINGO the dog song or something like that. It seemed like it was on every morning. I wouldn't be surprised if they still do.
