I don't think that Edmonton is hillier, as a general rule. The river valley is the exception, and that's quite a steep descent/ascent, but the rest of the city is downright flat.

Still nobody with any idea about the sewage tunnel being 9 stories under ground? I actually do think that's more interesting than a dinosaur tooth underground in Edmonton, since I knew there are dinosaur bones all over Alberta. (Dinosaur provincial park near Brooks is a really neat place, best thing about my summer spent working in Brooks) But sewage pipes that deep? Who woulda thunk it.

We have storm/sewer pipes that deep and deeper in Calgary. It's not unusual when you have to connect to a deep main. Cranston is a great example.
