Ottawa > Toronto
The National Enquirer has gained greater acceptance in the last 10 years. They broke a number of big political scandals. The editor was on the Colbert Report the other day. I will try and find the clip . . .

Mike Modano is married to Wila Ford
Hagman is married to Miss Finland I think
Only real bad one I can think of is Sheldon Souray getting divorced.

Yeah, but thats not just 'divorced.' Correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt she actively and publicly hate his guts?
As for Ottawa, I've only ever been there twice, but overall, it seems alright. I will second the motion that I wouldnt want to live there though. If Canada didnt have Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, Ottawa would be right up there as one of the single most pretentious cities in the country.

Yeah I'll take the opinions of people actually live here over those who have merely visited and have some odd pre-conceived notion of pretentiousness (I don't even know how you evaluate that).

I think it's based upon the number of soccer players in a city. The more players, the more pretentious the city.

The Enquirer has the best investigative reporting on the planet. But go ahead, read the New York Times if you want. They get lucky sometimes.

Too many politicians and government offices, the mere presence of which seem to mysteriously allocate importance to those who are of none.

What doesn't make sense is that if she was just stringing him along about moving to Ottawa, why would she suddenly reveal her real feelings because of a nursery?
"Yeah, building a 5000 square foot house in rural Ottawa sounds good. Can't wait to move in!"
"What? You're putting a nursery in the house? Why would you do that? I'm not living there!"

The only reason nobody wanted to be the Edwards story was because the media has deluded themselves into thinking politicians aren't evil scumbags.

You see this with a lot of people in the US. It's like they think all of Canada is like a frozen inner detroit. You also see it with NBA or NFL athletes that talk about how crappy fantastic, world class cities like Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are but have no problem living in Oklahoma, Charlotte, Cleveland, Cincinatti, Nashville, Indianapolis, Minnessota, etc. It's like they think Canada is a socialist, 3rd world country when in fact the average person here has had a higher standard of living than the average US citizen for years.
I mean, if Underwood lives on South Beach in Miami, off Central Park in NY or in Beverly Hills, it'd be different but doesn't she lives in Tennesse?
