Its called a front. Go to the one in the +15 between BP and 5th Ave Place, and ask for a 'tasty sandwich' and you'll see.
My Picks:
Submission: Watermark Tower, wicked bread and overall great subs.
Holy Grill: Great, but so frigging far away unless Im working on 11th.
Sukiyaki (Eaton Centre): With pretty much a million places to get food like this, I have concluded this place is the best. Way tastier than EDO, Teriyaki Experience and all the other no-name places.

Walk to the eastside, fatty.

The Focaccia is baked fresh each day, and Sal makes the sandwiches when you order. More people need to walk by Holy Grill and go to Caffe Mauro. Help support a proper Italian cafe in Calgary (Spolumbo's special is not even in the same zip code as this sandwich).

You've changed my life. On this recommendation, I went there immediately, and I concur. I think that's the best panino I've had outside of Italy. Pricey though. The proscuitto bocconcini is $12, AND the debit machine asks for a tip. Sorry, Sal. I don't tip on take out.

Tipping is getting way out of hand.
Nobody stops by my desk at work to give me some change just because I do my job.
If you've not gone above and beyond why should you get a tip?

I find Sunterra is pretty reliable. The food is never amazing, but its never terrible. Its my standby if I can't decide on anywhere else.

Thanks for this. Tried the Chicken Parmigano on a baguette today, and it was fantastic. Best sandwich I've had in a long time.
Definitely not cheap though, at $12.50.

Went to the Holy Grill at lunch based on this thread. Pretty good double burger with fries for $9. Really friendly service. Tasted a lot like a Harveys burger which isn't a bad thing!

The Drum and Monkey is an underrated lunch spot. Pretty extensive menu, with really good prices and massive portion sizes.

Verona Pizza in TD square. Hounourable mention to the european hotdog place on Stephen Ave.
Oh yeah....and Falafel King. The best thing about Falafel King is that you'll be eating that thing all afternoon long - and so will everyone else in your office. You just can't get that smell off your breath afterwards.

for every 1 good place in the +15 there are 8 terrible ones. How many crappy wonderbread sandwich coffee shops do we need? even if you make stirfry at lunch, fata off.
I have a new business idea, coffee and egg sandwiches in the monring and chinese food for lunch. How do these places stay in business, no one goes there more than once.

I am on the west side of downtown as well and I agree with everything you say. The best sandwich you can get down here is a wrap from Jugo Juice in the husky tower.

What about the Sub Plus joint on the +15 on the west side of Husky? Those subs are top notch.

They are good, except I could eat two and they aren't $14 good. No I don't want juice!

Submission in Watermark tower is good.
This city needs more Jews and their expertise in piling as much meat as they can between two pieces of rye bread.
