What a waste of time and space. Just adding to the degradation of today's youth.
You know MTV is grasping at straws when they put that crap on TV and make these idiots into "celebrities."

Does this really deserve it's own thread?
I can proudly state that I have never watched a single minute of this crap.

Another reason to never watch MTV again. Why is it even called MTV? When's the last time they showed a music video?

I think the show is funny... But when the commercials come on, all I can think of is these yay-hoos make 40,000 bucks an episode to go out , get drunk , pick up chicks.... WTF?!?!? Id do the same thing for 10k an episode!
I dont see how they cant pick up hotter chicks , you think the chicks would be flocking when they see the camera crews .... but they are still only getting grenades

Sammi's the only somewhat attractive one on the show, but alligns with the idiot quotient quite well.

I am extremely tolerable when it comes to watching TV shows that the girlfriends wants to watch, but under no circumstances can I watch this show. I am incapable of turning off my brain in order to enjoy a TV show and I am convinced that is the only way someone could possibly enjoy this.

This. I watched this show expecting to pity these guys, but I think they are at least a little bit self-aware. They play up their role and put on a little bit of a show (at least this year), and I think they're pretty funny.
The girls on the show, on the other hand, are absolutely clueless.

I've seen this come up a few times in this thread. Do people really think youth are that impressionable? I watched a lot of crap TV when I was a kid and that didn't phase me. Sure they'll be some who want to be like the Jersey Shore cast, but I think think that's the overwhelming minority.

I see this argument a lot. Would anyone actually watch a TV Station that just showed music videos anymore? Why? Why would you sit there for hours in hopes of seeing your favorite video being played on the rotation when you can just go to youtube and watch it in HD whenever you wanted.
Growing up I had no choice but to watch MuchMusic to see music videos, now kids can get them from 5 different sources.

Which for some reason triggered my memory of Saturday Night's Main Event. Remember how epic those were, when you actually got to watch two name wrestlers in a fight. I think there pattern was once every 3 months. I used to madly scramble the TV Listings page to see if this was on weekly.

I liked Katee Sackoff's (Battlestar Galactica) rationale for listing "Jersey Shore" as her favourite TV show:
"These people are so shallow and disgusting that you just can't take your eyes off them."
