What used to drive me nuts is when GM's give multiple year term to players with big dollar figures. I can understand the idea that it's a two year deal at an AHL% so you can get rid of the player easily enough. But than we end up with useful guys in the AHL because teams grossly inflated the dollar figure.
Sign the guy for one year, if you have to overpay you'll get a hell of a lot more for the player trade wise.
