guessing it was part of the deal for the arena to be renamed after Rogers

nice for the fans though, all games this year will be on one of the Snet channels, TSN, or CBC

I'm wondering how this will work as I didn't think Sportsnet had the rights to broadcast NHL games nationally.

Well I guess I won't miss the one game a year against the Flames that's on PPV.

Sportsnet sucks. End of story.

They've gone downhill ever since getting rid of Hazel Mae and let's just say the network wasn't great even then. Wait a minute....is Sportsnet a network?

I hope so, minus the televised radio.

So is this going to be a regular channel (ch. 2-30) or will it be up in the 200's like the proposed Sun News Network?

Is it not included in the regular Shaw package?

How so? Isn't it completely up to Shaw whether they carry a channel or not? If anything, I believe this is another one of many Shaw fails.

The Sportsnet website mentions that other distributors will be announced at a later date.

As long as the channel is on Telus TV by the time the NHL season starts I really don't care about it right now.

Yeah it has to be on Shaw eventually. The Oilers and Flames don't sign a deal with Sportsnet and then not even give their hometown fans access to watch many of the games.

Even still, it's a perfect example of how second rate Rogers Sportsnet is to launch a channel exclusively on their own cable network. At least when TSN2 launched they had Bell and Rogers on board.

Many Toronto Blue Jays fans across the country are angry over a recent decision by Rogers Media to move twenty five Blue Jays games from existing Sportsnet stations and show them exclusively on Rogers new Sportsnet One station which launches tomorrow.
By moving the Blue Jays games from the four existing Sportsnet stations to Sportsnet One, Rogers is trying to force Canadian broadcast distributors and Blue Jays fans to subscribe to yet another Rogers digital specialty station.
Digital Home readers angry over the way Rogers is trying to ram yet another station down their throats are asking “Do Canadians really need to pay for five Rogers Sportsnet station to watch Blue Jays games?” By spreading Blue Jays games over multiple stations, Rogers is forcing consumers to spend millions more each month to watch the baseball games they were originally promised could be seen on existing Sportsnet stations.
Currently, the only broadcast distributor carrying Sportsnet One is Rogers Cable. If you are Bell TV, Shaw Cable, Shaw Direct, Eastlink or Cogeco customer, you cannot watch Sportsnet One and therefore can forget about watching the Blue Jays play the Los Angeles Angels tomorrow night at 9pm ET

No they didn't. It took quite some time for Rogers to get TSN2.
