Yeah the Cobalt SS Turbo puts a whooping on a pile of RWD cars that are a lot more expensive, not the least of which are the Mustang GT and 350Z, etc... all the while getting good mileage. I'm very impressed with my Cobalt SS.

As for the OP, I'd go with a G5 coupe if we're talking base models.

My wife had a Sunfire with that Ecotec, was actually a really good car. Good power, great mileage and was completely bulletproof. Never had a spec of trouble with that car.

Enjoy your new wheels!

Because by the time 220hp or so is exceeded (and even that's pushing it), most companies won't do FF anymore. :P. Just jokes. Don't get me wrong, it's an impressive feat regardless. However, I was talking about the feel of the steering on non-256hp Cobalts (ie. the ones I have driven). Unless they tweaked it on the SS turboed ones, it leaves a lot to be desired. At the end of the day, I'd sacrifice the 3.15 seconds on a very long track to have something such as a Euro MKII Focus RS (that has 40 more horsepower).

I know it's possible to have electric assist power steering that doesn't feel like you're steering the car with the front end off the ground, but that is how these cars feel to me.

Sorry for lumping GM into one bin there. The Corvette ZR1 (and Z06) are awesome...but where is the ZR1 top? It's still 13th place, which is...well simply insane.

If your ZR1 time is newer, please post it. I wanna see!

Well for it to be called the best handling FF car on the market by several magazines... you can bet it's tweaked over the base model.

Here's where the ZR1 took the stock street legal record: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/08/b...ring-record-r/
