I'm similar to Bertuzzi too. When comparing his success at his level and my success at my level, then I'm a better goal scorer. I make him look like Scott Niedermayer in the skating department though. Other wise, I'm big, hard to move, like to make nifty moves that end up giving the puck away, don't use my size to my advantage. I also don't resort to thuggery.
Tonight my CP brethren I have come to a realization. That realization is that I envision certain posters to be a certain style of hockey player. I've recently had this image shattered by Jiri, who admitted to being more Robert Reichel than Jordan Leopold.
Anyway, I hadn't really considered it, in a real conscious way, until tonight. I've been talking it over with the wife, and we've really worked through and identified what criteria I use in my own head. A great one she came up with is, if a guy is generally the first or second guy into a thread, as part of general personality of posts I've read, I'll identify him as a centre who is good on the draw. From there I apply other attributes.
SO, I thought a fun little game to play would be to describe what kind of player you think the above poster is/would be.
For those of us who play EASHL games together, we'll have a bit of a warped opinion.
Because of the nature of this, I don't want it to turn into a weird popularity game, so let's all try to take this lightheartedly and not harp too much on any one poster, good or bad.
So, either just go with the person above or someone else who specifically comes to mind.
I think Discplaced Flames Fan is Adam Foote.
Dear god, is today the official I can't effing read day?!
The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to amorak For This Useful Post:
I always think Guy Lafleur when I think of Habernac. I read in a post somewhere that you used to be a heavy smoker, and it kinda stuck in my head. You probably had an ashtray mounted on your bike.
LOL! 8 years smoke free, and I never smoked as much as the Flower.
Lol I knew someone was going to say Sean Avery. Hahaha Am I really that much of a prick?
And I probably do play a little like Sean Avery, but I'd like to think I have a bit more creativity.
I'd say you're more Downie than Avery.
Downie just runs around a lot. Avery is actually an effective pest.
I might say Estrada is an Avery, but from his own description of himself, Avery would be too small and cowardly
Also, what the feck is wrong with you people. I understand a paragraph is hard, but jesus. Thank you Amorak for trying to corral this thread a bit.
I think Lanny had a career trajectory like Roenick. Came out, banged around, was quick, scored big clutch goals, but eventually all that talent gave way to the loud mouth and he lost some of his fan base, or they just dismissed his tired routine.
In the end, people still found him entertaining, but not for the same things they did before.
I imagine Bingo to be like Ken Dryden, just not as good.
