wow, the apple fan boys have their backs up today! Apparently a normal consumer = hater.
I am hardly a hater - I talked my girl into buying a 3G when they first came out here and I enjoyed playing with it. I was working towards having all execs at work be able to have iphone options as well as blackberries, in part because I want one and am sick of being a BB-only office
However, as a rational, logical consumer (aka not a fan boy), when I see this many problems with a company's flagship product at launch, it sours me. So instead of going iphone4, I will stick with a BB for the time being and upgrade my girl to an unlocked nexus one, which she can sell if the iphone4 gets sorted out down the line.

I would give it more than several hours of being out before you write it off. They sold an absurd 600,000 units already. There are bound to be problems in a batch that large, in fact it's a guarantee. The screen issue could be a manufacturing quirk that resolves itself. We'll have to wait and see about the reception issue. It does look it could damaged pretty easily, case will be a necessity.
Like I said, give it more time and see how it holds up. I wouldn't put a lot of stock into what Gizmodo says a couple hours after it's out. They have a tendency to jump to conclusions and get carried away. The late Canadian release date will give us plenty of time to see what the build quality is really like.

But...but they just got a 33% payraise (now they make 75 cents an hour!)
They are still working overtime far beyond what is the maximum set by law though.

The white ones are being held back and will be dropped. Apple will soon announce the availability of yellow iPhones.
Soon I can have a poo Zune and a pee iPhone.

If you were such a rational and logical consumer, you would know that the nexus one has the exact same "signal problems" as do many other smart phones.

Had an idea!
|
And?
Does that solve the new iPhone problems?
I didn't realize the solution was as simple as 'omg, the Nexus One does it too, therefore it doesn't matter!!!.'

I'm not saying there is a solution, if you read the original quote you would see that he is thinking of purchasing a nexus one for his mom because the iPhone4 is "crap" because it has a lower signal when you cover the bottom left of the phone. Which is something that happened back in February with the Nexus One.

An iphone thread not started by you know who?
This day will no longer be known as the day michael jackson died, it will be remembered as the only time in CP history that an iphone thread wasnt started by you know who.
On a more serious note, this is not good news for me as I was planning on getting one I hope this is just the teeter totter effect of emotions that comes with apple products.
