I like the show, but last season was just terrible.
They focused way too much on Turtle and E, who are both pretty annoying in general.
Drama + Ari = the reason people watch.

Okay start to season 7.
Loved the ending with Vince ready to do the stunt again.

I thought it was decent. After a couple seasons tinkering with the format, it seems like they're going back to basics: Vince as an A-list movie star and seeing all the cool on-set stuff, Drama struggling for work, Turtle in kind of a secondary goofball role(and back to wearing his hats again). I like it. By no means am I expecting a recreation of the first 3 seasons, as I'm well aware this show is past its prime. But so far I'm satisfied this season.

The other characters are just getting "too" successful to be enjoyable. The show was so strong in the earlier seasons because you had 3 struggling guys living off the other one, it was a situation that many could relate to (the struggling part).
Now you've got Turtle, E, and Ari all doing a lot better than they were in prior seasons, and suddenly Drama is the only character I want to watch......

I didn't mind it all. Vince actually was likeable and seemed realistic, Grenier did a decent job besides that last scene.
Love seeing Drama involved and hopefully having an actual legit storyline.
Turtle's acting just awful. He has no acting chops and hasn't grown at all from the first season. Any sort've serious scene he's in is beyond cringeworthy

Im still a huge fan of the show, but i didn;t find myself laughin much last night. The only time I laughed was when Drama asked Ari to treat his life as seriously as he does his own and Ari's reaction was "That sounds.....reasonable."
Outside of that one line, the episode wasn't funny to me, but plenty of stuff happened. Finally seeing some guts from Vince was a nuce thing. Seeing Drama in trouble is always a good thing and seeing Sloan look fabulous made the night for me.

Yeah, wasn't that funny of an episode. Almost seemed like they are taking Drama into a more 'drama' type of story line, but we shall see.
Did anyone else see what was on the wall in Ari's office?

Considering how inconcistant this show has been I'm not sure what to fully expect, but with everything I've read and last nights episode I do suspect this will be an ultra serious season and try to tackle some big story lines in comparison to the last 3 seasons. I'd like to see entourage get a little dark

After watching quality shows like the Wire, Breaking Bad and the Sopranos it's hard not to realize just how awful anything that HBO is putting out now-a-days is. Entourage is Sex and The City for men... just garbage. There are much more efficient ways of seeing good looking girls than to sit through 30 minutes of that crap.

How can you even compare Entourage to any of those shows when their all hour long dramas and it is a half hour comedy?

Entourage is Comedy-Drama, same as Breaking Bad. The Wire doesn't claim to be comedy but still manages to be way funnier than Entourage. Curb Your Enthusiasm is comedy and I'd compare it in quality to any of those shows i listed excluding the last season. I don't think it only being half an hour is an excuse for it to be such drivel.

Breaking Bad isn't HBO, its AMC. Even if Entourage has slipped alot from the first few seasons, its still a helluva lot more entertaining than 90% of the stuff on NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.

Yeah, the best way to describe the show is inconsistent. At its best its a really good show, at its worst its kind of a waste of time. Last night's episode was downright boring. Even the usually entertaining back and forth dialogue between Ari and E seemed contrived.
They seem to be caught in a weird space of trying to keep the show fun and cool at the cost of a decent story. Its better when story has more of a focus and the fun and cool stuff is a byproduct of that.

That was the worst part of last season. 5 seasons of Ari hating E, and then poof, they are bestestest buddies with Ari calling E to chat, etc.

In what world is Breaking Bad a comedy?
I also don't think you can even compare Curb to any of those shows directly. Sure you can say you enjoy one more then the other but they're completely different.
I'll agree that right now entourage sucks, but in the first few seasons it was very entertaining if you take it for what it is. If you're throwing it up against some very, very well written shows with great stories and deep character development, then yeah it's gonna suck. But if you don't take it so seriously, it's a decent bro-story with some classic lines.

The shows creators say it is.. although the humor is few and far between and only subtly hinted at its still there. Lately it's been pretty dramatic in light of recent events.

Yeah i know its AMC.. i shouldn't have grouped them together like that. I also forgot about Curb Your Enthusiasm when i was taking a shot at HBO. It's still pretty good despite the last season.
