If over 100 golfers get through there will be some early tee times tomorrow/Sunday.
Is the cut line all of those golfers within ten strokes of the lead?

I'm cheering for Matt Richardson to make the cut. He's an unknown, "adopted" Canadian (fiancee is Canadian), and has become a friend of our family.

Top 60 and ties, plus any players within 10 of the lead. That number I quoted earlier has fallen significantly though, with McDowell going to -4.

There are currently 92 players inside the cut line. If McDowell bogeys his 18th hole (the tough 9th), that puts 109 players inside the cut line.

Richardson is in pretty good shape, sitting at +3 right now, 7 strokes off the lead.

Edit: McDowell three-putts for bogey and puts the cut line at +7, unless anyone passes him on the leaderboard this afternoon.

Leave the TV for a few minutes and Weir drops from -1 to +1. Ouch, rough start.

Weir now at +4 early on. Imploding here, he's gotta get his head together before he misses the cut altogether.

ugly start for Weir, going double-bogey-par-double on his first four holes.

Mickelson with a great start, he's the best golfer on the planet right now.

Wow Phil is on fire! I wonder if any of those +7 guys went to sleep yet thinking they were safe. Wake up tomorrow and receive a plane ticket home cause Phil went nuts.

Looks like Weir is going to miss the cut after starting the day in a tie for 2nd. Unreal.

At least Lefty will be fun to cheer for.......great round today, should make for an interesting weekend.

Weir did make the cut by the hair of his chinny chin chin. As did the guy I'm pulling for, Matt Richardson.

I'm hoping Phil can overcome the five-time runner-up status in the US Open and pull forward this weekend for his second straight major.

Also, that 14th hole - holy $#*&! Just pure evil.

Ooops....... I thought Weir missed. Thanks for the clarification. He's pretty much out of it anyways unless he does something magical. All eyes will be on Lefty today, hope he continues his solid play.

Els has a chance now, he does not have Dan Quinn on the bag. Nobody can win with that guy on their team.

Good ol' Weir going along in last place in the tournament. He has to be one of the best Thursday players on the planet when it comes to majors, everyone in Canada gets their hopes up for another lucky major win but no luck this year. lol

Man if that was Tiger that said that there would be all sorts of people crapping on him right now. But it's "nice guy" hefty so it's all good.

I really don't like Phil.

I don't like him either. Glad he's tense and bogeyed the first two holes.

Choker.

Amazing how in the US Open nobody can hold a lead. McDowell gets out to a 4 shot lead and he tightens up a bit.

Whoa. A couple of Tiger fist pumps this back nine. That hasn't happened in a while.

Keep it up!
