Something tells me there's really nothing other than bowling, and Chuck E Cheese type establishments...

As far as not inviting my friends with kids... that wouldn't be fair to them if I'm bringing my son.

I've got some time... I'm sure I can find something...

Why not go to Edworthy/Bowness park for a BBQ. Bring a frisbee or a football. Drinking isn't really allowed in the open but you if you conceal the bottles there is usually no problems.

In Edmonton, the Elephant and Castle on Whyte is open for all ages until the early evening (7:00 pm?) at least on some days and the City Centre location has one part that is sometimes open for all ages. There might be something like this in Calgary, where a pub is only adults after a certain time.

At Euro-Disney, you can drink and smoke around children. Very French.
