I have both, I go into the UK on my UK passport and come back into Canada on my Canadian. They get their panties bundled sometimes in Canada and tell me "Don't do that again" but I have never had a problem.

It was the $6000 that did her in, that's barely enough for a good weekend in the UK.

Do you know the applicable statute? I have a friend who crosses bands on a daily basis and they occasionally run into border guards who drop the 'I can keep you out for pretty much any reason I feel like' line. Most of them are actually really good to work with though.

US Inadmissible Section is 212. Clarified with my friend too after reading it. You could get bounced for prior drug use, but NOT marijuana. Reason for that is the exceptions clauses in the act. Marijuana posession under 30g is a simple summary offence and maximum punishment is a 6 month maximum. Also, a supervisor has to approve the denial in the US, which is unlikely unless very well articulated.

I believe she is an honest yet naive small town girl that simply told the truth.

Someone in her position who wanted to deceive the customs agents would have.

Maybe that's what is wrong with the system. (barking up the wrong tree)

Call me old fashioned but I would scrutinize Eastern Europeans, South Asians and Middle Eastern people and be less suspicious of young blond women from small town Alberta.

Its always the young, blond, quiet ones you've gotta kee your eye on. Particularly the blond ones with nice teeth....

Take them out for dinner and drinks then slowly, very slowly search them, every inch of their body followed by a thorough cavity search. Repeat if necessary.

She was targeted based on indicators, not simply country of origin and race. I call that good investigative work.

Illegal immigrants/workers come in all shapes, sizes, sexes, and colours. Even white female Albertan versions.

Well this guy had no problems sneaking in:

A 20-year-old Romanian man had a lucky escape after stowing away on a plane flying from Vienna to London.

The man hid himself in the rear wheel compartment of the plane which landed at Heathrow Airport on Sunday. He was taken into police custody in London but later released without charge.

He had bruises and hypothermia from outside temperatures as low as -41C, Austrian media reported.

He survived because the plane flew at a low altitude to avoid stormy weather.
