I find myself posting less and less as it seems every thread turns into the same negative conversation about the same things. Over and over and over again for the last couple months.
It's become a little boring.

Why the hell would i be scared? If you have confidence issues over the internet...there is no hope for you. I don't care what people think of me on the innerwebs! I know who i am, and i am damn proud of it!

I have been a member on cp for a year now and have spent probably 20% of my life over the last year on this site (literally). Yet over the course of the year I have something like 60 posts??? When I was a member on the calgaryflames.com forums I would have that many posts in a week. I dont know why there has been such a decline. I dont feel intimidated, but maybe I am..I should go see a shrink and see what he has to say about this.

Game threads are when I feel embarrassed to say I'm a CP member. They are truly awful.
Other than that, I don't mind posting in the FOI. When I first joined I felt intimidated due to the high quality of posting but nowadays that intimidation factor is mostly gone.

There are times where I will start typing something in the FOI forum, but will have to delete and start again, or delete altogether. It's not because I am scared of a internet beatdown or anything like that, but I'm not the greatest writer by any stretch. I sometimes have a hard time articulating my thoughts on a certain player or game etc. I know what I want to say, but I have trouble putting my thoughts onto the screen.

Mostly just in game threads.
Most of the other posts in FOI are simply conjecture or speculation, sometimes disguised as fact.

There is some true awesomeness that happens on CP. Unfortunately, it is hardly ever in FOI. FOI has degraded to near HF level quality.
Please don't Sin Bin me for saying that.

Often it's any or all of the above. Even more likely it's because my opinion has already been expressed, usually by many, and I don't see any point in adding my two bits.

I find my self posting less and less. Maybe (definately) it's because it's the off sesason and there is not much to talk about but I find that every (or almost) thread somehow derails into bashing Sutter, Iginla, Regher, Sarich...which would we be fine if the thread had anything to with it. For example, in the Kovalchuck/Frolov going to KHL thread, like 10 posts down, there is a dig at Sutter how he sucks. Then posters reply to that post and the thread loses it's meaning. It's sad really. People are certainly allowed to have their own opinion, but there is a time and place for everything.

Meh
Most times what I want to say is already posted by someone else (or close enough)
I use the "Thanks" button a lot.
Would also like a no thanks button, but that bit has also been said many times.
Let's call us reserved as opposed to shy shall we.

don't post there at all, and rarely read beyond the original post most of the time. reading thru the posts seems more like a chore because of the pissing matches and because i don't care to advertise my opinions.

I don't know whether it's a case of disillusionment with the team, or the constant bickering/childish posts with Canucks and Oilers fans, but I haven't had much interest in posting in FOI with any regularity for some time.
I do enjoy the Off-Topic and other sports sections though, and I find myself at least checking here first for any news going on around the league.

I don't go there often anymore.
I appreciate the posters who only post when they have something new they'd like to share, but 95% of the stuff in there is a reiteration of what's already been said, and/or stuff posted without thought, and/or trolling crap. The number of quality, well thought out posts has probably stayed the same, but a person needs to weed through all the crap to get to the gems. Frankly, I don't have the time or inclination to do that anymore.
I wish more posters had a think first, post later attitude. Often I read my post once it's written to see if it's really something that needed to be said. If it's already been said, I probably won't post. If it's useless, I won't post. Unfortunately sometimes if it's a driveby, I'll post it because the person it's aimed at has said something stupid.
In general, I don't avoid it because I think I'm not worthy of it; I avoid it because the conversation is degraded to the point it's now beneath me in a lot of cases. Sad actually.

The accolades I got for bringing the "Call on me/Kotalik song" to the attention of my buddies in the entertainment department made all the beratings for trotting my musings about the team in the forum worth it......I guess...

I spend 98% of my time in the OT forum, not for fear of posting in the FoI forum, just because I don't really care what is said in that forum TBQH.
It's good for some flames news, but I'm not a die hard anymore. If I were, i'd probably still post there.

I came to this site originally for the Flames talk, but over the past couple years, I've found myself drawn to the Off Topic Forum more. There are a lot of knowledgable people here who can offer insight on a whole whack of different topics that has nothing to do with the Flames.
I still enjoy the FOI forum during the season or during the draft and what not. But I do agree. The negativity in there sometimes is a factor in me not going there. It's gotten to the point where I expect a CP meltdown after a loss, and so I tend to avoid it after any Flames loss.

The OT forum is just more interesting.
FOI is good when I want to get my Flames info, but to be honest there are several posters that are now on my ignore list that have the same schtick over and over, regardless of circumstance and it just gets tired.
Besides, the funny picture and video thread, and the confessions thread before it got locked are way too epic to miss.

I only post in OT.
As an Oiler fan, I don't feel like I should be posting over there. And I would never start a topic! It would seem troll-ish even if that wasn't my intent.
