This is a bold move. The inside edge of the sandwich was always the best because it has the extra amounts of melty gooey cheese.

I always ask for light lettuce at Subway. The cheese doesn't bother me so much, but this is definitely still a logical step.

I usually just skip the lettuce because they always tended to four-fist the stuff onto my sub and i got annoyed constantly monitory the lettuce distribution.

Never worried about the tesselationization (yeah, i made that word up) of my cheese.

People actually want more of that stuff they call cheese? Or at least more "coverage"?

I usually request no cheese since it's rather nasty and highly doubt there is an ounce of naturally occurring matter in it.

This isn't a problem when asking for the shredded cheese.

I always ask for extra lettuce. It absorbs the sub sauce nicely so there's less drippage.

Are you saying that you've never noticed this? Ever? If so, I'm amazed at what people don't notice.

Does anybody remember when they used to do the V-cut on the bread instead of the hinge-cut that they do now? I loved the V-cut.

I have an even better idea: rectangular cheese. No tessellation or titillation necessary.

Anyone know why they changed it?

The v-cut definitely had better sauce retention capabilities, but if executed poorly the top slice wouldn't be able to contain the sauce and your hands would get all goopy.

Inspired by this thread, I went out and got a sub.

They did not tessellate my cheese. They also forgot the mustard.

I have not gone to subway for about a year since I discovered Sub Plus in Western Canadian Place (aka Husky). Best sub.
