What kind of wood are you burning and where do you get it?

Have the Broil King XLS 90, awesome awesome grill and made in Canada. Couldn't be happier.
I have this BBQ and after using it my old man bought one as well. It is great.

Another vote for Weber. I did a lot of research online before buying it 2 years ago, and it was definitely the top-rated BBQ out there. Have been very happy with results.

I have two little chickens on my gas grill right now, smoke pouring off them as usual, I don't think the apple wood makes much difference, cough, cough. (enclosed deck) kinda sortof.

Weber all the way. Very happy Genesis EP310 owner (Do not use side burners, and saved $70 bucks). I got it through direct buy for $800 (shows you the markup at Home Depot).

Anyways, mine has the stainless steel "Flavorizer" cooking grill. My preference would be to go with that over porcelain. I find porcelain chips and wears out faster, heat isn't as even. I think it costs more, but it is worth it. Also, watch out at home depot, they call the BBQ the same model (ie: EP310) but slide in porcelain to lower the cost. I would go to BBQ galore first and ask someone there, they are quite good.

If the Genesis is not in your range, I recommend a Spirit. I think it is the same design, just less Stainless steel good looks, but similar performance. That one is a steal of a deal if you are not into looks.

Vermont Castings and Viking is awesome too, if you have the cash. I have used those too and really like them, but I find Weber grills are best value.
