With Safari, is there a way to get the "open last closed tab" or "previously closed tabs" like you can in Firefox? I made the transition to Safari and the apparent lack of this feature sometimes makes me want to switch back or use Chrome more.

Been using Opera for years, never looked back. Fast, clean, efficient, looks good, can block ads and other crap page content, I'm sure it can do more but that's all I need.

I'm curious what those running Firefox on Macs have for hardware who are complaining of it being slow?

That sentence was really poorly constructed. I'm hammered. And posting about web browsers. God I suck.

I used Firefox for an eternity, but immediately switched over to Chrome after I tried it once. It's really fast, and the simplicity is nice too.

After a little research: apparently Chrome and Opera are the best, then Firefox, then Safari, then way down at the bottom is IE.

I love Firefox but the start up time has become to much for me. Tried Opera 10.5 and having very good results so far. Highly recommend trying it.

This thread has inspired me to try out Chrome. I had been meaning to for awhile, and Firefox has been getting slower and slower for me lately. Seems ok so far.

A five year old G5 iMac. Which could be part of it, yes, but it's not slow overall. Lots of programs still load/run faster than Firefox. Well, maybe not iTunes. And I cringe at the idea of opening up Photoshop on this thing.

I really need a new Mac.

Firefox is my choice. Adblock Plus and xMarks (bookmark synchronization, formerly known as Foxmarks) are my two indispensable extensions.

I use Opera myself and have for the past 7 years. Everything comes with it already, don't need to fiddle with plugins and Firefox memory leaks because of all the plugins that everybody throws into it.

I can't live without Opera mouse gestures. For a long time, Opera was the only browser that had zoom capability for everything on screen including videos.

Opera usually still ranks as the fastest browser as well. Tiny footprint too. I used to keep a fully functional Opera on a memory stick which I would just plug into any computer and just run if that computer didn't have Opera installed.

Chrome.

So fast, so functional, so sleek. Has all the extensions I need.

I tried using firefox on my Mac and it was slow as hell so I went to Safari. I tried opera, but I really couldn't get used to it, and I didn't think it's performance was all that great.

So when chrome came out for OS X. It's easily my default.

Chrome

It's fast and the minimal UI is great. I like it better than Firefox and it imported everything from Firefox seamlessly.

I use Firefox on my laptop, and gave IE a go on my desktop. I find both are slow. Slow to load, slow to browse, and just plain ol slooooow.

Just switched to Chrome, so far so good.

Used Chrome for a while, back to Firefox.

Chrome was fast and all, but I have a nice package of add-ons in Firefox that enable it to work just the way I want it to.

New version of Chrome out today, which takes the beta tag off of Linux and OSX versions too.

I'm thinking of switching to Chrome from Firefox, had too many instances lately where Firefox just starts using 25% of my CPU for no reason I can see until I restart the browser, and memory usage of 1GB for the browser is too high (though I guess I'll see what Chrome clocks in at, maybe I just have too many windows open )

Is there an equivalent to Xmarks for chrome? Cloud-based bookmarks are essential. Would assume that's in considering it's Google.

Xmarks is on Chrome apparently.

That's cool, that means i can sync between the two browsers?

EDIT: Ahh but no password sync!
