the thing i hate about blockbuster is how you can stand in line and wait and wait and as soon as the phone rings, whoever calls gets ahead of you ... why do customer service counter people also answer the phone?
anyhow, i also wish they had a self serve checkout, but they dont because then you wouldnt stand in line and buy the garbage they have on display.
i wont step into one now, just dl from shaw on demand ... no late fee's, what value do rental store have anymore?

I like walking to the movie store with my kids. It's fun watching them
pick movies, too. I also like going when there is a huge snow storm.

I definitely didn't consider they could be separate companies though.

We just rent from Netflix and let the mailman do the walking.

Blockbuster is at least useful for game trade-ins. Whereas EB gives you like $3 for games, Blockbuster more often than not gives you $10. I got $10 for NHL 09 from them just last month!

Video games. I'll rent a game and spend the week gaming hammering it out with my brother and/or my sister. Good times.

even cheaper $1.79 perhaps?
i have a good roll of winning video store disputes, often times i've lost the game, forgotten about it, or had a family member rent something and not mention it. when they call you just turn it around on them and insist they are wrong and stop harassing you. Then some time goes by and you find a free game under a stack of movies

I have no idea but my guess is Gamefly hurts video game rentals for US BB like Netflix does for movies so possible double whammy.

And as a guy who worked there, if I saw something that jumped out to me as being totally out of place or messy, I would take the 10 seconds to clean it up. But with the amount of movies going in and coming out, keeping the shelves tidy and proper is not as easy as you might think. Customers are constantly grabbing a flick and putting it back somewhere totally different.

Don't know where I asked them to do it each night, but K.
With three employees working at a time it shouldn't be too hard to carouse the aisles every now and then during a shift and look for mistakes.

When shaw on demand has 1080p movies, I will go that route, but until then we rent Blu-rays from blockbuster. Far superior audio and video quality.
Who still rents DVDs.

Yeah, the quality on SOD is pretty awful. I'm a Blu Ray junkie now, so I can't watch any kind of movie in delicious high defintion.
