Thanks for all the comments. I bit the bullet and bought in Cranston. Proabably more for the house than the community. Sweet deal. Anyway, more comments about living in the south would be appreciated.

Live in Copperfield, have been here over 2 years now.
We love it down here, I work in the Foothills ind. park, so it
is only a 15min. drive to work.
There is everything at 130 ave, that you could need, except
a harware/lumber store. Finding this out as we are finishing our
basement. Heard we are getting a Tim Hortons and a gas station
here along 52nd ST.

Rona and Canadian Tire are on the way. Plus I heard a Keg is opening up as well.
Now all we need is a movie theatre and we are all set!

Looks like I made the right choice.

Have a couple places in the Mckenzie town at the moment. I like the region pretty well. Currently I live in a Condo right on 130th Ave (going up for sale very soon if anyone is interested), but we have a place in Prestwick Estates that we will be moving into in April after I finish exams.

I can get downtown in under 30 minutes, and once the interchange at douglasdale is finished that should shave off a few more minutes.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that the weather in the south is often quite a bit better that what is in the North. The cranston weather station is always the one that is the warmest in the city, and many times that it is storming in the North it is fine in the South.

Shopping wise, 130th has a lot of stuff, and is getting more. What isn't there is quickly accessible across 22x in the Shawnessey area.

The biggest downfall is transit. I would rather take the train than drive downtown, but getting to a station is a 15min drive. I suspect that if I can get a parking spot paid for by my work that i will drive downtown.

Driving to the University is 35 - 40 minutes, less if crowchild is smooth (but more if glenmore is nasty).
