Lethbridge. The wind, the long high level bridge, and if you back long enough, coal mining.

Sudbury, Ontario AKA "The Big Nickel" or "The Nickel City" due to the nickel mining in the area.

I'll be there for a wedding mid august, maybe everyone can get to steel city for a beer or 10?

I seen it in a movie once where a guy thinks he's dieing and trips out on a motorcycle, but I couldn't remember where it was. Funny though I drove threw Subbury 3 times and totally missed it. That was a long time ago though...maybe it wasn't there then.

What part of the movie, near the end or "rear"?

In Australia, it's the only thing people know about Calgary. Mostly because nobody here gives a rat's ass about the winter olympics.

Clinton, Ontario... home of the first radar station in Canada. Quite a lofty claim to fame. Actually, probably more famous for being where Stephen Truscott didn't actually kill anyone, but got to go to jail for it anyway.

As the capital of Finland, Helsinki is naturally a hotspot for metal music.

This creek used to run by my bedroom window. It was so full of salmon in the fall that they'd be spawning in the ditches, now not so much.

My grandfather was a postman and the federal building was his route. This was one of the 3 days he ever called in sick in the 30+ years he was a postman. The guy who covered his shift was late to work and also missed being in this area when the bomb went off.

Drayton Valley, used to be known as the "Oil Capital of the World".

I don't know how they made that claim, but they did. Now it is just known as being the drug capital of Alberta (maybe Canada), CBC did a documentary on it.
