TV On The Radio, mainly the Dear Science album. I bought it about 6 months ago, thought it was OK and I've been listening to it virtually non-stop in my car. It's one of the more complete albums I've ever listened to.
Broken Bells is a new one I can see myself listening to a fair bit...it's the lead singer from The Shins and has Danger Mouse from Gnarls Barkley in it; really catchy stuff.

Charlie Christian ... he was one of the very earliest electric guitar players to perform solos, breaking the guitar out of its traditional rhythm role, and laying the groundwork for the performers who would go on to become the primary influences on electric guitar soloists such as Hendrix.
Am working outside of the big 4 Seattle bands...My Sister's Machine, Screaming Trees, Gruntruck, Skin Yard, Tad, Green River, Mudhoney, Meat Puppets etc etc etc

Hmmm, your post seems somehow pretentious and self-righteous.
I saw someone describe silversun pickups as shoegaze... I've heard of that genre but never really knew what bands made it up. Anyone else like this stuff and can make some recommendations?
