Is it just me or is it a bit creepy to be looking at pictures of 2 year olds and trying to vote for the best looking one?
Unless you're a pedophile then no it's not creepy. Some kids are cuter than others.
I still think posting pictures of your kids on the internet is wrong. Who knows what kind of creeps are out there. With all those killings of the pregnant woman in America for their babies who knows what levels these desperate people will stoop to next.
I'm sorry for stirring up a bone of contention with the CP community. I did not intend to do so.
However, the next time I see another thread asking the CP community to vote "for Calgary's best mom, cutest dog" etc, I expect the same kind of reception for the thread starter. I didn't expect the kind of ridicule and negativity that I've seen today but I guess I should've known better prior to posting.

I think the fact that its children puts in a whole other realm. I mean voting for the best Pillsbury recipe is different. At least in my eyes.

Well entering a best Mom contest would imply something other than looks would be the criteria for winning. Cutest dog, well frankly who cares... it's an animal. I have a problem with this cutest baby garbage because you are essentially exposing your baby, without their consent, to win a contest for a few cheezy prizes based solely on her looks. How low would it be to enter your mother in a sexiest MILF contest without her consent for the chance to win a trip to Cancun. To me this baby contest is equivalent or worse than that.

Shut up. It's a harmless contest.

Personally, I find baby related things a bit overwhelming at times due to social networking such as facebook or even CP. I swear that I've seen almost as many fetal ultrasound pictures as a pediatrician. Therefore, I mostly ignore contest spams such as this one.
Cute kid anyway though CrazyCaper.

Facebook ruined radio contests.

Do you guys really think this contest is about who is the cutest kid????
It's obviously a "who knows the most people that will click a button" award...
It's like if there was a poll set up, who's a better hockey team, Calgary or Vancouver? All Flames fans click on Calgary, and all Nuckleheads click on Vancouver...
Geez, never saw those prizes, I thought it would be 2 for 1 coupons to montanas.
Thats the reason people enter this contest, there's no deeper meaning, same reason why people wait for an hour and a half on Stephen Avenue for a free Fan 960 plastic bucket, cause people LOVE FREE STUFF.
Hey if they had a veiniest wang contest and those were the prizes, I'd enter.
You'd enter even if there were no prizes.

To me there are two choices. You think contests are fun, and so you vote for both kids that were posted on here. Or you don't think contests like this are fun, and so you don't open this thread at all.
Choice 3: open thread and then post your unsolicited opinion about contests involving children wasn't even on my radar. But I was raised to be nice to people, so maybe that's the difference.
Anyhoo. Voted. Hope you both win.

Don't take it personally. I think it's just some people (me included) are tired of getting bombarded by this contest (and others like it) wherever we go. I bet this won't be the last thread created on CP for this contest either.

I believe over at Beyond.ca it got so bad that they now consider cutest baby threads to be spam, even if it's posted by contributing members.
