iPhone HD Leaked?

That Engadget iPad image was a real (proven) leak that came out the night before the iPad announcement. The device in the corner of the image looks very similar to the one that people are claiming is the iPhone HD.

Having said that, there is also a report that the iPhone pics are actually just a Japanese knockoff... as someone is claiming to have purchased one like it a few months ago.

Don't be a dick man. This is a forum not a freaking university paper. If you're trying to learn something about a website (which requires an up-to-date background check) then wikipedia is a valid place to turn to. Unless you want to look up engadget from your shelf of encylopedias and academic journals.

I was trying to show the reputation that engadget has as a reputable tech website. It was also corroborated by a fellow poster on the same page. Again, not an academic source but a personal opinion. If you look at the page on wikipedia, you'll notice that the website launched in 2004, is featured on Google Reader, available in multiple languages and owned by AOL. You can also read a section entitled 'controversy' to get a few additional stories from the other side.

I know you think you're hilarious with your tongue in cheek comments, but you're not and it doesn't add anything to a legitimate conversation.

Multiple sources confirming it's a legit leak. The lines are from a removable battery door, and the new rumor has the case being made out of zirconia. Stronger than glass, but much more wireless-friendly than ceramic or aluminum.

Yup. Gizmodo got their hands on it.

It's been remotely wiped, but they opened it up and all the components align with what would make sense for an actual iPhone. They said that plugging it into a computer turned the screen on, and the USB icon was so sharp, they could not discern actual pixels. Also, there is a front facing camera.

It does not look that thick to me. I like how it lost the curved back, and the front facing camera probably would necessitate some extra thickness.

It certainly doesn't look terrible, just not something you lust after... just looks like a phone.

Why no picture of the screen? Say with the 3GS screen with the same image on it (the plug me in to iTunes image).

Gizmodo also says that AT&T isn't letting employees book vacations in June - presumably because they'll get awfully busy with the iPhone being out by then.

As for the phone itself, it looked sorta big on its own until I saw the pics of it next to the 3GS. I think it looks nice. Really hope Rogers gets these in June too.
