according to this article youre right, although you'd think if he doesnt want to do anymore Hulk movies, there's no reason to think he'd do The Avengers.

"I don't think so," he said. "I think it has got more to do with what Marvel is doing. I get the sense they have this grand vision of unspooling a lot of their characters and then starting to put them together. I think they can only do so many at a time. Obviously, they are doing Iron Man 2 and then getting some of the new ones out."
Marvel kiboshed it, as many had expected, so they could focus on establishing the other Avengers for the film. No where does Norton say he doesn't want to do it so why wouldn't he take the easy money for a few scenes as Bruce?

I also wonder how exactly they would fit the Hulk in. Whenever they add him to the lineup he seems to take over the storyline and provides more of a conflict for the team than anything.

If Hulk were in the film I would assume there would be a massive battle between him and the Avengers like in the Ultimates as that is what made the series from the beginning. Me thinks alone that would cost way too much to produce, so that may not happen. Maybe they would bring him in for the sequel, but having him in the first could kill the budget, and take up too much of the plot anyway.

I also wouldn't mind if Black Panther were added, as aside from Cap, and Thor BP has always been my favorite Avenger.

Btw, just finished seeing Kick-Ass. Actually a very good flick in my opinion. Never read the comics, but I am somewhat familiar with Millar's work. I wouldn't go if blood, and death scares you easily, but a must see for any comic book fan to be sure/

I think there is a Black Panther movie planned.

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/black_panther/

Blade star Wesley Snipes wants to produce another Marvel movie and is rumored that his company has purchased the rights to Black Panther.

And there is hope that we may see one soon if the talented Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has his way! In an interview with Blackfilm, he revealed that the rights to the character have reverted back to Marvel...

"It's now up for grabs and I'm doing the grabbing. I've always had a passion to play a superhero, and now it appears to be becoming real. We're in talks with Marvel to play one of my favorite superheroes, which is obviously Black Panther. There is truth to that, the fact that we are talking. It would be a boyhood dream to have that materialized. I was at Comic Con this year and the timing for such a character to come to life couldn't be more appropriate. I would love to be the one to wear the suit and go out and represent."

Animated series:

http://marvel.com/movies/black_panther.black_panther

BET Networks and Marvel Animation are teaming up to produce an animated series based on the legendary Super Hero, THE BLACK PANTHER. The series will be adapted directly from the first six issues of the Marvel Comic written by Reginald Hudlin (issues #1 - #6 "Who Is The Black Panther").
