This is exactly what I'm talking about. This is why artists often completely re-record "live" CDs in the studio.

Outside of a small amount, and I know I am missing people just listing the first few that come to mind, like Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Bono etc.

most lead singers don't have the best voices. So to include someone like Liam Gallagher on this list is kinda dumb by Yahoo

I said it before in the Album Draft... Kurt Cobain was a horrible singer, but it added to the pain and emotion in his lyrics. Sometimes it works.

What's funny is I've seen charity concerts where Bono and even Freddie Mercury are paired with opera or professional singers. They sing the same thing as they duet a song...but MAN, Bono paled in comparison. He outright sucked.

By himself, he sounds amazing like he has great range and power and you think "wow, he's one of the best in the world" but wow, Bono really didn't when he performed live with a real singer.

Bono, my god. So out of tune. Pavorotti must be thinking "who is this karoke guy beside me?" Just awful.

U2 tune their instruments 1/2 step lower than standard because Bono can't hit the high notes. So it's not a real surprise that Bono couldn't compare to a trained opera singer.

But he's not even really singing in a high register or out of his range in that video.

I'm not saying he's a bad singer. He's got a great rock voice and a lot of power for certain notes. I like a lot of U2 songs. Just that he's often quoted as one of the guys who are the best singers but he's not really.

Liam Gallagher and Ian Brown are living, breathing LEGENDS. This list is BUNK.

Listen to this and you will see why:

I dream I could sing like that. It's so sad they are so underrated in North America. Oasis were in my opinion the greatest band of the last 20 years.

^ Buy a compressor and autotune and I bet you'd be way, way better than those two arm-plunger junkies.

Do we really need to expose Shaun Ryder? Wasn't the whole premiss of their band that none of them really had any musical talent and instead embodied the pill party party scene of the day? At least this is what I gather from the "24 Hour Party People" movie, something I recommend everyone check out.

What is the point of "exposing" a frontman who never held himself out as a great singer in the first place.

Im not sure if Britney actually BELIEVES that she is good... but that dumbfounded look on her face sure makes it look like someone has been fooling her for the past 15 or so years... poor girl

I was at one of Sade's early gigs in the late 70's (or maybe early 80's) at the Wag Club, she had a huge underground rep, a backing band of the finest jazz funk musicians money could buy, and couldn't sing a lick, it was the most painful experience I'd ever had, she was worse than the average drunken karaoke singer.
Turned out the editor of the New Musical Express had taken a 'personal' interest in her, if you know what I mean.

The record company canceled her 'underground gigs', retooled her with a voice coach and from then on she basically whispers her way through her songs, which is a sure sign she still can't sing!

Some of my favorite musicians are bad singers but their quirky uniqueness and lyrics make up for it: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Corb Lund etc.

i saw oasis when they were here and thought they did a great job. Every live act is going to have hit/miss moments....depending on how theyre feeling that day....how many days ina row theyve been doing it etc.. Its a shame they broke up, Dig out Your Soul was one of their best albums and Liam sounded great on it.

I like Britney and don't really care if it's produced or natural. Couldn't care less.

Jordan's real name is Katie Price and is better known for her, uh, "talents" other than signing. She is sort of like England's Paris Hilton, but with more kids and less diseases. Well, maybe.

Here is some of her better work.
