Yeah, thats sort of the way I see it. If she's good enough to knock the ball down and not get hurt the worst that happens is a person gets a base hit that they'd still get half the time anyways. Most of the time people are hitting with runners on base so there aren't that many plays where a girl has to throw accross the diamond.

Yes you are going to have some infield singles if a weaker arm or defence plays third base, but what good is having three strong fielders in the infield if the ball gets dropped or goes through the first basemen. Your shortstop and first basemen need to be your two best infielders.

Teach one of the girls to pitch. Then you can play them pitcher, catcher, second and rover.
I would always be scared to put an inexperienced player let alone a inexperienced girl at 3rd base.

The majority of the hardest nastiest head tearing off line drives coming off of a right handed bat are going into the third base area.

Most of the biggest collisions between runners and basemen is at third base (Does your league aloud sliding)

I've seen too many people on third base taking really painful injuries just due to the the activities on the hot corner.

Plus that third to 1st throw is a long one that needs to get there in a hurry.
