OOSD?

I took that two years ago. And here I am, doing a job I love, making good money.

Trouble is, it has no relation whatsoever to anything I did in OOSD. [/b][/quote]
Yessir. What do you do now?

Can I have a job?

Finishing up my 4th year electrical engineering.. Two more courses left after this semester, then I'm working at a Garden Centre because there's no jobs for me right now..

Wow that's depressing.

As for me Political Science and Economics at the UofC. So kermit... could you hold me a spot at that Garden Centre too? Preferably in lawn ornaments and statues.

I'm a chemical engineering technologist pretending to be a petroleum engineering technologist. And doing a fine job of it, if I do say so myself.

Regarding OOSD, if you have even a light background in programming/developing, prepare to be frustrated by the slow pace of the class. When I was there, too many students in the class just weren't capable of the pace they were trying to set. As a result, instructors tried to appease the lowest common denominator, and we didn't get to as much material as I think we should have. It was my biggest complaint about the program, and I would hope that they've fixed that problem since then.

That's all fine and dandy for me... I have a very light knowledge base of what's in the curriculum. I'm just looking for the certificates and a larger knowledge base in the end. In fact i'm quite relived by what you've said about the course.

I believe the average age for the course is 31 (So I was told), i'm only 21 but have more knowledge when it comes to IT than a heck of alot of people which is why they gave me a seat.

I'm pretty excited to get into the world of Software development as i've focused mainly on graphics design and web development.

I'm a Production Editor for a television network in Winnipeg. For the most part I work with our promotions department creating the annoying promos you see during commercial breaks. So, for example, if you see a spot promoting Extreme Makeover Home Edition: sunday at 10, it could have been me. Sorry.

Tier 2/field technical support person. Very annoyed that I had to drive to Drayton Valley at 3:00 yesterday to try and fix a downed network at one of our stores, only to find the problem was actually with our service provider.

Full-time student, 2nd year at U of C, between faculties, kinda complicated. Trying desperately to get into Psychology. I hate being in limbo, though.

Also just got hired at Rogers Video! :P

That's what I did my first undergrad degree in. Really interesting program but I'm not sure there's a huge demand for people with psych degrees. The stuff you learn is useful in everyday situations and in various jobs but it's not like other departments. You go to engineering to be an engineer. You go to the arts to be an artist. You don't go to psychology to be a psychologist (at least not with just undergrad). You might go into psychology to be a psycho though...

This sounds very encouraging...

I'm 2nd year EE at UofA, likely taking streams in Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology and maybe a Control Systems stream as well.
