I'll thank you Vulcan, I've been watching this show and find it very interesting as I always like war stuff and never really thought about the propaganda going towards it.

Reading some of the responses why are there so many dicks on CP now?

Having a difference of opinion makes you a dick?

Well most of the major players are democratic enough that the news sources aren't controlled and the governments seem to need the people behind them to wage war and if they lose that backing the war grinds to a halt as in Viet Nam for the USA and even in Afghanistan for the USSR, the public had some say in the withdrawal.

Some sources focus on public opinion and the eventual escalation of protests during and then after the war, starting with underground papers and protest demonstrations at soldier's funerals and grave sites (which were on small scale during the war, however). Although any protest was being immediately and severely put down (for the very act of opposition against the political establishment was regarded as high treason) no force could control the popular discontent of the Soviets, thus, protests were becoming more frequent and better populated. "I believed - I really believed," said a retired Soviet schoolteacher, of her lifelong party membership, in Fall of 1990. A Russian biologist related in early 1992 that "they said we were the happiest people in the world. How were we to know differently?" (Arnold, 200). Such actions are indicative of not only the mass frustration but also of political break-down.

Yeah, he was abusive and a philanderer. In fact, Hitler's parents were second cousins.

I was referring to the comments about whether this show needed it's own thread.

Pretty much what happened in the recent Balkan wars.

I have been watching it online. Its not so good it deserves its own CP thread though IMO.
From now on should we all just PM you with a thread idea for permission to start said thread?
