Because it is true. I've had several posters say they don't like me, as in me the person outside of CP. It just seems really weird that anyone would say that a person's online persona must be exactly what they are like in real life.
How could anyone hate flip outside of CP? It's not like my friends call me flip and read CP and make all of their judgements about me through what I post on CP.
Furthermore, I just think most pubs in the NW are super generic. Jamesons, Kilkenny etc. I like places that serve premium beer and have a wide selection. I also like places that have good food.
Unfortunately the pub here in Tuscany has neither. The food sucks, they have crappy TVs and they only serve the basics when it comes to booze. What they do have at the Last Straw is really good service. And since it is like a stones throw away from my house I frequent that place.
Both Rips are kind of dive bars, but they have good service and a nice atmosphere so I frequent them.

Hey. Not cool man. The other posters aren't going to realize that we used to hang out a lot and that you are probably kidding.
Well, unless you are serious and that is why we don't hang anymore...

Kilt and Caber in Mckenzie Towne is Awesome. Good food, good atmosphere and the staff is generally quite pleasing to the eye. Those short plaid skirts are awesome. The owners of that place also own the Point and Feather in Oakridge which we used to go to a lot.
They just opened a new place in Cranston called the Berwick. I haven't been there yet but looks like a cool place, always seems to be busy when I drive by. I'm interested to see if they have implemented their hiring and wardrobe practices there.

Kensington Pub for the win! Too bad I live so far away from all the good pubs in town.

If you remove the wart off your nose and tip a little even the FATS girls will give you service.
J/k
I agree with Schanks, absolutely the worst and laziest staff in the city...bar none.

FATS is awesome... Kensington Pub is great, Unicorn is ok, I go there a ton and it usually is alright. It's got a key location which helps it... place by my work is fairly expensive but not bad (Belfry).
There are a lot of really nice pubs in Calgary.... I've been to probably too many of them, too frequently. Hmm... the road to alcoholism...

The pub in Tuscany wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for that one a-hole that always goes there...
Truthfully though, that place seems to be changing the menu every few months these days. I wonder if the ownership is changing hands or something. That being said, sometimes the best pub is one within stumbling distance.

As much as I want to like the Unicorn, I just can't bring myself to go back after my fish and chips tasted like dirt (literally - must have been some kind of mold), and the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah, that figures for this place".

Governors, I tend to watch most Flames games there.
Kensington Pub is sweet.
Fats is alright. I guess.
Petes Peanut Pub is pretty awesome, especially if you're a poolie and have a few games going on all at once.

Went there recently, and I really liked it. Got to know some of the staff since my friend's bro works there, but it was a good spot. Definitely share Flip's sentiment that pubs in the NW suck... I'd kill for someone to open a decent one in Dalhousie station

There are zero good pubs in the NW, IMO.

The Coach and Horse s.
Rips (in the SW, anyway) is TERRIBLE! It's our crappy bar of choice because it's usually empty and we get half of the entire bar to ourselves.

The James Joyce for me. Being Irish, it's probably the only one I've been to in Calgary that actually feels like an Irish pub.
