Ouch pucks in the head are no fun. I was playing beer league and sitting on the bench. I took my helmet off momentarily as it was too tight. Wham... puck in the forehead from a clearing attempt.

Blood everywhere. The puck must have hit an artery, because it was litterally spraying out.

It didn't hurt at all, all I remember is the sound then the blood all over my face. In the mirror i could see my skull.

I didn't have the misfortune of bleeding in front of a large audience though. I'm majorly impressed you stayed to watch the game.

You are correct, Sir. My accident happened about ten minutes before the glass breaking incident and mine was in the Flames warm up end.

Head wounds always bleed a lot, apparently. About six months ago I fell down our basement stairs into a cupboard my husband is restoring and dislodged his cordless drill which fell onto my head. Now that really was a bleeder. And before any of you become too concerned my husband checked his drill as soon as we got home from the hospital and it was still in perfect working order (true).

Happens to Luongo all the time, you should get a Gold Medal.

The reason I bring this up, did anyone else see in their game the other night, he was on the bench, someone tried a dump in, hit the glass between the bench and the crowd, bounced back and thumped Luongo in the noggin?

Thought of that when reading this post. I hear he got signed jerseys from everyone on the Canucks team. Million dollar contract too...

As a kid I watched a concession girl have a pane of glass smash on her head causing 'massive' injuries. She was gushing all over. I think this was about 31 or so years ago in the old Forum.

I saw a kid take a batting practice home run directly in the nose at a Tampa Bay Devil Rays game once...

That thing must have been coming in at 100km/hr. Lots and lots of blood.

Then again, that's par for the course at a baseball game.

When I lived in Iowa we had this thing called "Iowa Games" it's like Iowa's own Olympics and I was playing in the hockey tournament and a guy takes a shot that goes off my stick, Then my helmet and hits this poor little kid sitting about 2 rows away from the glass. Almost impossible for him to get hit with a puck. Poor little bugger was bleeding bad. I felt like an ass.

Higher than that because she didn't cry and try to get a penalty afterwards.

Yeah, it's amazing the abuse DeWalt tools can take.

Seriously though, ouch.

So does that mean it's fair game to call you "puck head" now?

Glad you're alright.

Perhaps I can qualify for a user title? I have been called far worse than Puck Head in my long life.

Asking for a user title never gets you one.

Anything to make you feel special despite living in Iowa huh?

You should feel bad for the kid, if he lived anywhere else in the world he wouldnt have to go through the rest of life looking like a hidiously mangled hosebeast.
