Everyone knows about Phx positives, the weather (outside of May-August), great golfing, since they put together the ring roads it's not too bad to drive around town and great restaurants. All the things you'd want if you were there for a week.
However some negatives are that it's a mediocre sports town, the facilities are great, but whole idea of the football stadium and nhl rink in glendale is a joke. Many ppl there are fans of other teams as they came from the Mid west. There will be more Chicago fans at a cubs or blackhawks game than you could believe, so there's not a great deal of passion for the local teams. When the Cards made their run in 08 a pool company had to buy the last 1000 seats to allow for the game have the blackout lifted. An NFL team that can't sell out a playoff game? Not alot of arts and the culture I find to be very superficial. Something I'd fully expect in Vegas, but maybe nowhere else.

One more negative i guess age limit to drink is 21

Chill, man. Just kidding about how when I saw you had posted in the thread that it was very predictable. Much like my Roma fanboyism. For good measure I mocked your constant whining about Calgary's lack of culture. It's the internet. Take away mockery and all that's left is porn. It's only 9pm. A bit early for porn.

I'm proud of the fact that I've inspired more than one person to visit Rome. Thanks to you and your bro, I have full intention of checking out Auckland. I really don't expect to encounter "culture", but I'm sure I'll have a ball.

Vancouver would probably be in my top 3 choices. If it didn't get so much damn rain it would probably be #1 for me. I'm still not quite sure what the top 2 are... I just know Vancouver can't be number 1 without enough sun.

To answer the best places part of your question I'd say for right now:
1. Upper West side
2. Gold Coast
3. Northern Scottsdale

Somewhere southwest of Calgary (no more than an hour), with a winter home in Orange County, vacation home in Fiji, and a summer home in the mountains of Sverige.

In first place is Canada, on the Island. Anywhere between Parksville and Victoria. God's country. Victoria has west coast climate with half of Vancouver's rain, and is one of the nicest cities on earth to boot.
A close second is New Zealand's South Island, in Christchurch or Dunedin. Or Nelson, love that town. Not Invercargill, that's the only ugly town in New Zealand, I'm fairly certain. Auckland's nice no doubt, but the South Island is ruggedly handsome (like me).

From November 1 - April 1 , the Pacific coast of Mexico between Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. April 2 - October 31, one of the Gulf Islands.....maybe Saltspring or Gabriola.

+ 1 for that. Cowperson's stompin grounds.
I lived west of Dewinton as a kid. God's country for sure. I'd definitely like a little getaway home out there, along with my Pacific coast gigs!

^ I agree, I lived in Turner Valley for a few years, it was so nice to wake up there on the weekend. Beautiful area. On the doorstep of K-Country along the Sheep River. Millarville market. Black Diamond bar. Good times.

Sydney AUS. Love that city with a passion. I've been enough places to know "home" when you get there. As far as the culture thing in NZ 4x4, you will experiance it within seconds of landing on the green islands. and furthermore Ivercargill is a hole

Why is it that the best places to live are rarely the best places to work?
(Sydney AUS is close, but damn you're far from everyone else)
