Got a Wii.. now what?

That alone made it worth it's price for me.

Start having a lot of friends over, or, let the thing continue to collect dust until you eventually give up on it and buy the Playstation you really wanted in the first place.

I found that unless my buddies were over, the Wii never got used. Felt like a waste of money. For what it's worth, my PS3 has_been_worth_every_penny.

I tend to only have 1 friend at a time over, and really then only 1 of my buddies actually plays video games... me thinks the wii experiment is over and I may drop my work bonus on a ps3 instead and get the show. There's actually a number of ps3 games I really want to get

I would highly recommend Metroid Prime Trilogy. Thats alot of hours of awesome gaming.

The Wii is what it is, and it's mainly a party console. It's aimed more at causal gamers and younger kids. It's really fun when you have a bunch of people over, but I find it a bit lacking when I'm by myself. I don't think I've played mine in over a year. I used to play a lot of old school Nintendo and SNES games on it after getting it modded. The only drawback is I've been trying to find a wireless Wavebird GC controller for it at a decent price for the longest time.

Not the Wavebird, but in stock and ship to Canada and since they're the Japanese edition they have an extra long cable (3m). I picked up four of these to replace my 3rd-party non-Wii-compatible controllers when I predicted future scarcity of GC controllers. Kind of sucks though that all my controllers are the same colour, but not a huge problem.
