That still amazes me that this site isn't on multiple servers already. What type of network / Internet connection are you running?

Currently we're on a shared 10Mbit connection, though we don't use all of it by a long shot.

We were on a dedicated 1.5Mbit connection and it was good for 95% of the time, just got saturated during really busy times.

i jumped on for a second last night after the game and the site seemed to run fine. i think at the time there were 700+ people viewing FOI. so kudos guys.

was the new setup able to manage all the traffic? and was last night as highly trafficked as times like the day phaneuf got traded and the other huge days that crashed the site in the past?

Heh, we're still running on the old server, I've been crazy busy and haven't had a chance to do the final move-over

The traffic last night was high, but not nearly as high as other times.

Was on yesterday after the Vancouver loss and the site just stopped working for 5 minutes. When it came back on 900+ people were viewing the FOI forum.

Looking forward to the server move.

That's because half the site gave up on the team weeks ago.

Then they came by to tell everyone how right they were and made sure to start a new thread to tell us.

Is anyone else finding the site really slow today? It's only on my computer that it's slow though, iPhone works okay

I had that same problem yesterday... slow on computer (tried Firefox, IE, and Chrome - latter two wouldn't even bring the site up), but ok on Blackberry. Good here at work too. Perhaps a Shaw -> CP connection issue?

I haven't even been able to visit the site for the past couple of days because of how slow it is. 90% of the pages won't even load, and I have to keep refreshing.

I'm located in Toronto on Rogers at home, and I tried at the girlfriend's house, but had the same result. She's also on Rogers.

Weird. I'm on Shaw with no problems (well it was slow there for a bit during the press conference).

Anything that I can try when I get home? tracert? pings (forum.calgarypuck.com didn't reply, from what I remember)?

Tried turning off images, sigs, avatars, etc and it didn't help.

Yeah not sure what it could possibly be.

I'll try and get the server move completed this week, that should resolve any issues.

I got 'server busy' more than once during the presser.

and today from home, loading the pages is back to normal. No speed degradation at all, as it should be. Weird.
