Cross isn't the best place that's forsure, that whole Westbrook area used to be so bad, and just West of the school, Glamorgan and across Richmond Road into whatever area that is called.

Clearly the worst negotiator ever. He traded the hostage for a bottle of water. Still smart enough not to drink from a crappy Jr. High water fountain though.

I know you guys are mostly just joshing around and there's nothing hateful here (though there's an undercurrent of serious ignorance and racialist bias in the black people=ghetto deduction here, I'd like to see someone formalize the logic behind that...), but until the identity of the guy was disclosed this was reminding me of when there was that bomb plot in the NE and everyone on CBC in the comments was saying things like 'IED's in the NE, what a surprise' and all sorts of insinuations about the ethnic origin of the people in that area, then it turned out it was white supremacists attacking other white supremacists. That was amusing.

My post was in amusement at the racist undercurrents, not with them - There are what, 4 black people in SW Calgary? The fact that he's black is surprising, not expected as you infer. I even said I thought it would be SE trailer trash. Shows how stereotypes are always wrong.
