That's what makes it special.

The first few lines of Russia are equal to (if not better...) than Canada. The D and the bottom lines, not so much. Cowperson is right, depth will matter in this game- I just hope it isn't ruined before they get a chance to get on the ice.
This matchup has the potential to be one of the best matchups in recent history. Very strong players on both teams, now let's see what happens!

Should be a good game. Canada will need to score a ton of goals to win this game as I see a steady diet of Ovechkin, Malkin, Semin, etc. swarming 7uongo, and his record in "pressure" games isn't exactly stellar.
If Canada can play like all stars in the offensive zone and 7uongo has the game of his life, Canada should win.
Otherwise.... go Finland.

Its going to come down to Defense.
-Ours has to stop their top line, and theirs has to try to not be a random squad of KHLers.

8-7 Canada if Luongo lives up to expectations.

This thing is a track meet in the making.
It's gonna come down to goaltending, and who makes the last save IMO. Even a 2 goal lead with 60 seconds left isn't safe for either team, and it's going to take some world class goaltending from either country to win it.
Luongo wins or loses this game for us.

Now that we're at quarters, do the games still go to shootout after 5min OT?

I imagine the top two Russian lines and D pairings will see considerably more ice time than "equal opportunity" Canada. Richards needs to shut down Ovy and the penalty kill has to be on tonight. It is so hard for me to watch these types of games, I cannot sit still!
I feel nauseated right now just thinking about it. This should be interesting.

Russians lose in overtime after all coming down with alcohol poisoning from the day before.
Damn Goulag Vodka drinkers.
Canada 4-2 with empty net goal.

What are you smoking? Haha iginla would not take any shots in the shootout. By the time its his turn, the whole team would have gone already heh. With all the snipers and dekers, the game will be had in the first 3 shots by each team

so if everyone scores wouldn't it keep going? and after 3 you can reuse players so ya Iggy wouldn't be in the shootout.
