The police pursued it for a while, there was one guy that they couldn't locate. I called every couple days for a while and eventually gave up. The one expensive piece of jewelry was fully covered by insurance, but 2-3 thousand of lesser valued jewelry and other items we slowly discovered were gone (ipod, digital camera, anything of value that would fit in a pocket) would have been covered under my regular homeowners that had a $2,000 deductible due to 3 years of hurricane damage.
I had all sorts of fantasies of giving them a visit, but got over it. I got a lawyer friend to send them a couple threatening letters, but the address their business was registered to wasn't valid.
