I give Machiavelli less than a year before she passes me though. My reign as your supreme overlord will be (mercifully) short.

I just wish Resolute would spell 'character' correctly in his user title

I would, but Ken likes it better that way, and Jiri, for some reason, won't make me a mod.

Congrats Resolute! I noticed a few weeks ago that this would happen.
To be fair, many of your posts, like Cowperson's, are quality posts. It's not like you post a lot of random fluff just to become number one.
Thanks for being an outstanding member on the board and thanks for being a friend!

Ol' man Cow was number one since modern era posts (Oct '01) were counted. He had a massive lead until he all but dissapeared, only popping up to talk about his Dogs, or Battlestar Galactica.
Obviously not a big deal, but a funny thing to note for the long-timers.

I willingly surrender my Pontiff title to Resolute 14, The Poster Formerly Known As Snakeye.
I was supposing Transplant99 was catching up but hadn't checked my six to see Resolute 14 careening in out of the sun, gunning my ass to smithereenies.
That's how we'll all die eventually.
I was at 20,000 posts on, I think, June 2, 2005 (the infamous "Guess When Cowperson Passes 20,000 Posts" contest), which would be an aveerage of about 14.6 posts per day from inception, then averaged only 3.6 posts per day, roughly, since then. Just under four years of heavy volume and just under five years of light volume.
Clearly a pure choke.
Wear thy mantle well o' Resolute!!! Enjoy the sweet nectar that comes with it . . . . .
Cowperson

Where are people racking up all these posts? Game threads? Never heard of them.

CP gives away the franchise title too easy. I mean, I have only been here 2 years. We need some blue squares.

Just think, if you'd kept your foot on the gas you would be pushing 50,000 posts by the end of this year!

Yeah, its easy to rack up posts if you're always involved in the game thread.
I was right behind Resolute for a while there, then I had to start working.

Scary thought . . . . my post count comes with virtually zero participation in game threads.
About one-third to as much as one-half of my posts probably came from starting topic threads back in the old days, helping to generate traffic and conversation. I'm not really in that business anymore. Posting an opinion and not engaging in the ensuing argument is another subtle way to cut down your-online time/post count significantly (although you're surrendering the fun of arguing).
More hammock/hiking/work time.

Yeah, I noticed the typo right after I made that title; but left it as-is because I thought it was funnier.
