That isn't true. Aussies are generally really great people.

However, I do think that they export their dinks. Especially to south east asia. It ruins it for the goods ones who also travel.

I met some awesome Aussies when I lived in Vancouver, and when I travelled South America.

As far as loud, drunk, obnoxious goes, Aussies camping near us in Europe, begged us Canadians to keep it down, amirite Aeneas?

the handful of Aussies i've ever met (all visiting Canada) have been of the egotistical "I'm better than you" variety. i still think that accent is damn sexy for their women though

the problem for begg-smith is that he was "supposed to win"
by that I mean he was the favourite going in, which doesnt happen for someone representing Australia in winter sports. if he hadnt have been favoured and had finished second, everyone in the country would have been right behind him, but because there was a false expectation on him, that he couldn't/shouldn't lose, this allows d'bags like the guy quoted by the OP to come out and make us look stupid.
and for all the guys flaming aussies...i am aussie, and if you tone down the generalizations that "ALL" are like that, and instead say "most of" or "the majority of"...even i would agree...there a a lot of us who get out and act like tools, and ruin it for the rest of us

I traditionally have a vendetta against the French, that was until I started travelling more and found that every Aussie guy that I had encounters with were simply awful. It was like the gun toting first amendment tattooed on my shoulder American stereotype (yes, there are a few of them) but drunker.

Sorry to generalize there Imported_Aussie, but that's been my experience. I do however have a friend who is Aussie, but she's always trying to move to Canada. She's agreed with that assessment of them.
