The discussion was on who would be the people bringing the torch into the building and who would ultimately light the final torch.
Two people that they wanted to discuss were Betty Fox and they were going to throw out the suggestion of Michael J. Fox given how big a star he is and given how he is handling fighting his disease and in his own way doing what Terry Fox did - raised money against a horrible disease that each person respectively suffered.
Meredith botched the order that they were supposed to discuss things and got the two people mixed up.
