How long does 5000m speed skating take? 10 minutes?

They moved the men's luge start to the women's start line on the "perfectly safe" track.
And the other Georgian luger withdrew - he wanted to participate but couldn't even bring himself to step on the track. Brutal. I felt so bad for the Georgian Olympians last night. You could see how devastated they all were. Proud of them for still going through the parade, but it had to be hard being around 60,000 celebrating people when one of their teammates is going home in a body bag.

I don't like the way everything is schedualed in 6 hour blocks on my PVR. I have to go out with the wife this afternoon/evening and wanted to record the Canadians Womens Hockey game, but have to tape the entire 6 hour block because it wont let me start recording at a specific time, just a specific slot. I wish it was broken down into smaller increments. Is that the broadcasters decision or SHAWs, I wonder?

Just a guess but I think the broadcasters aren't 100% sure of what they will be showing next. I think it depends on how we do at each event.

CBC sucks. They don't have enough commentators.
This coverage is great so far.

Well at least TSN is onboard this time around. The 1988 olympics were ruined by CTV!!!!!!!!!! 20 years later and i'm still pissed.
A joint CBC/TSN broadcast like in Beijing is the best we can ask for. and get rid of sportsnet and their god awful commentators.

Check the Suisse vs Sweden womens hockey game on right now
I think Soderstrom lent his mask to the Suisse goalie...looks so retro and terribly awful

In a battle of the #4 and #5 ranked Woman's hockey teams in the world, Sweden shutouts Switzerland in the opening hockey game for the Olympics 3-0.

I think it's something like that. The reason they have them is to give the jumpers some perspective of the landing zone, otherwise, all they'd see is one big patch of white with no reference points to judge their distance to the ground and/or the angle of the hill.

Perhaps but what was under the mask was hot. What a babe Schelling is.

You don't have to record the entire block. You can set a recording for specific times on the SHAW PVRs if you want to . . . I do it all the time to tape the sports section of the news to watch after game interviews . . .
Go to the quick menu → PVR → Set a Recording → Select the start and end time you want to record and date → choose channel → select record
