Any word on which houses are better than others? Any chance someone has compiled a list with all the houses? I heard the American one is a penthouse suite in Yaletown?

Gonna head down on Friday. Want to go get some dinner somewhere, do any of the houses serve dinner food?

Just so everyone knows, I was at LiveCity Yaletown tonight. It's a dry venue so no beer gardens if that's what you were heading there to do!
Alexisonfire played about 30 seconds but then stopped the concert when the security barriers at the front of the stage collapsed and people got trampled and hurt (hopefully not seriously). There was about 10-15 minutes of security helping those who were down but then the band came back on and said that the show was cancelled.
I was at LiveCity Downtown earlier to watch the Canada vs Norway game and there is a beer gardens there along with Canada and Manitoba Pavillions which are kind of disappointing.

The Nashville north description is a good one, nearly everything is pretty lined up. We did fit the Francophone pavilion last night. It was a good time, they had a carnival night for Fat Tuesday, and we were able to walk right in. The Granville sites seemed less lined up than the downtown locations...save perhaps the Atlantic venue. Not sure if the Swiss or others at Granville are open to general public...interesting to hear The Dutch venue was Dutch only, any non Dutch gotten in?

For anyone going to the LiveCity Downtown stage... the line up on the street is only to get through security. Once you get inside, there is another, longer line to actually get in to the venue. We gave up after 90 mins or so last night.
Had a great time at some dingy punk bar down the street though.

Went to Heineken house on Friday and liked it. The lineup gets huge fast, so you have to go early, especially on the weekend. Got there around 5:30, waited in line for about 1.5 hrs. You have to buy a cash card and use it for all of your drinks/food/clothes etc.
Beers are $4.50 each and no cover. No tips either since you're using the cash card.
totti: other then that, just go anywhere downtown. The party is everywhere, some of my favorite nights out have just been at random pubs and walking the streets. There is no wrong choice.

I'd definitley run with this approach.. the entire downtown is alive. The LiveCity events are pretty nice.. but I'm not seeing what the point is waiting 3+ hours for a nicer version of Nashville North (unless you're wanting to see a particular musical act really bad). I definitley had fun at LiveCity Yaletown and I'd do it once.. but there's so much other stuff to do.
I'd definitley just wander down the Robson/Granville area or Gastown (although Im biased towards Gastown....love it down there) and fun will find you.

Ya not much sense in waiting in massive lineups for the LiveCity venues, if you do go to LiveCity Yaletown do not go to the Coke tent, my friend and i got in line for about an hour and finally some girl who had obviously had about 48 cans of coke in the last 2 hours opened a door and said "Are you ready to open up happiness!" and I just looked at my friend as both said "We've made a huge mistake".
Robson and Granville street are like the Red Mile x 100. It is craziness or you could move off Granville street just find any pub. Hustle's right about Gastown, tons of good little bars there.
I was at Yaletown BrewPub last night and met Regan Lauscher from the Luge team and Michelle Kelly from Skeleton. Bought Regan a beer because it was her 30th birthday, both really nice girls.
In case you're wondering if you're looking at an athlete or not the athlete passes have "Aa" as their symbol.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys...unfortunately on my first night out some real classy Surrey boys decided to show us how tough they were for no reason (they got pissed cause we said we were from Alberta?) and broke my nose. Had to get my face stitched up, and my buddy has a black eye and a fat lip as well.

Please don't lump us folks from Vancouver in with the trash from Surrey. Believe me when I tell you Surrey and most of the people that live there are from a completely different planet. It's like comparing Calgary and Edmonton, only 10x worse.
In fact, we built them their own Olympic concert venue in Surrey in an effort to keep them all out there, but unfortunately it sounds like some are still making there way downtown.
I'm sorry for your crappy experience...but don't let it ruin the rest of your trip. Downtown Vancouver has been a blast!

Vancouver's always been a rough town with tough guys everywhere. It's one of those cities where you can get beat up for looking at a group of people the wrong way.

it happened in Surrey he said, not Vancouver
Not surprising that happened in Surrey though there is a real 'tough guy' culture in Surrey, some huge idiots who will fight anything
its a lot different than Vancouver

He said they were Surrey boys, not that it necessarily happened in Surrey.
Either way, that's really crappy. I've actually been pleasantly surprised with the lack of fights DT, with the huge number of Fraser Valley, Ed Hardy ###### bags coming into town every night.
